When switching keyboard layouts with `xkb-switch` it stops working after a device is disconnected and reconnected

If you disconnect and reconnect your keyboard, the language defaults to `us` instead of `us(intl-unicode)` and you are unable to switch between keyboard layouts and layout groups.

Same thing happens using Xp-pen graphic tablet: when invoking a hotkey, the language defaults back to `us` and you can't use other layouts.
