What this changes

The plugins have no Polish channel database. Add the same PL_channels.json to both projects so Polish channels can be matched and grouped using the existing database loaders.

The reviewed snapshot (2026-10-06) contains 382 channels in 13 categories, including 99 regional entries and all 16 TVP3 regional services. It covers public/commercial channels, Polish feeds of international networks, regional stations, diaspora channels and selected broadcaster-operated streaming services. Channel rows use the existing channel_name / category / type schema; source URLs are included in top-level metadata.

Sources and curation

No single register covers every Polish-language service: KRRiT records Polish licences, while some Polish-language channels operate under foreign licences. Wikipedia was used to discover candidates, then checked against broadcaster/operator lists, the regulator and the local broadcasters' association. Every retained entry has a supporting source beyond Wikipedia.

Main sources:

Names retain Polish diacritics. SD/HD/UHD simulcasts are consolidated, while distinct branded services (e.g. TVP HD and CANAL+ 4K Ultra HD) and timeshift channels are retained. Categories use English labels, consistent with the existing Norway database; entries are grouped by category and naturally sorted by name.

This is a curated snapshot, not a claim of an exhaustive official register. Radio, foreign-language-only services, test feeds, VOD catalogues, show-specific FAST loops and unverified/discontinued stations are outside this snapshot. Announced future rebrands are not applied early. Recurring CANAL+ Extra event channels are included even when they are not broadcasting continuously.

The JSON is byte-for-byte identical in the companion contribution; SHA-256: e28e502f5443d2dba9ea1ab240973999066acaef4f83655edf169ba728524167.

Why

Adds the missing PL option through the existing automatic database discovery and documents it in the README. Companion change: PiratesIRC/Dispatcharr-Channel-Maparr-Plugin#14.

How it was verified

  • python -m pytest -q: 1,591 passed (Python 3.13 locally).
  • python scripts/validate_databases.py: all 16 databases valid.
  • Byte compilation, version sync, CI lint gate (E9,F63,F7,F82) and publish audit passed.
  • Built and validated the release archive; the packaged PL file matches the source byte-for-byte.
  • Checked duplicate names, the 16 TVP3 regional services and equality with the companion JSON.
  • New test written first / deliberate-break check: not applicable; the existing parameterized database tests automatically cover PL, and runtime matching code is unchanged.

Anything a reviewer should know

Source selection and scope are described above. The database carries its own snapshot date; the plugin release version is left for the maintainer's release process.

  • No provider credentials, stream URLs or M3U account/server details are included; URLs are public reference pages.
  • No plugin version bump is needed for this contribution.
