Solution Overview

1. Develop a Manufacturer Listing on which various manufacturer archetypes (Contract Manufacturers, Rapid Prototypers, Makerspaces, Fablabs, etc) can list their capabilities, competencies and materials they work with.
2. Make it possible for 3D CAD models hosted in the WF version control system to be augmented and annotated with PMI information (Fabrication Process, Material, Global Tolerance, GD&T or marking them as an OTS (off-the-shelf) component), and turned into a structured BOM. Comprising both MTS (made-to-specification) and OTS (off-the-shelf) components.
3. Develop a match-making system which based on augmented PMI data, recommends relevant manufacturers to the user so that any PMI data can be collaboratively contextualised further by the manufacturer and product developer to the manufacturer's exact machines, materials and processes.
