Prompt Holder is a Browser extension that helps you save, organize, and reuse prompts, text snippets, templates, and optional prompt images.
It gives you a simple prompt library that is always close: open it from the extension popup, keep it beside your current page in the Chrome side panel, or manage everything in a full dashboard.
Your prompt library is stored locally in your browser by default. Dropbox backup is optional, and you can use the extension without creating an account.

- Image Previews: Preview attached images and control whether thumbnails appear in the prompt list.
- Starter Prompt Library: Begin with ready-made prompt categories for image generation, image editing, video generation, and audio generation.
- Drag and Reorder: Reorder categories and prompts to match your workflow.
- Recycle Bin: Restore deleted prompts or categories if you remove something by mistake.
- Import and Export: Back up or move your library with JSON import/export.
- Optional Dropbox Backup: Connect Dropbox to back up and restore your prompt library when you want cloud backup.
- Automatic Backup Scheduling: When Dropbox is connected, Prompt Holder can delay and group backup operations after library changes.
- Appearance Options: Use light mode, dark mode, or follow your system theme.
- Custom Dashboard Background: Add your own JPG or PNG background image to personalize the dashboard.
- Image Storage Controls: Save images at original size or limit the maximum storage resolution.

- Local-first Design: Prompt data is stored in the browser by default, with Dropbox used only if you enable it.
- Your saved prompts, categories, settings, deleted items, and attached images are stored in Chrome storage by default.
- Dropbox backup is optional and only used after you connect Dropbox.
- The extension uses the active tab only when you choose to paste a prompt into the page.
- The content script is used to insert the prompt you selected into visible text fields and editors.
- Prompt Holder does not need a separate account for local prompt management.
