Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to Direct callers that provide uppercase USB IDs to IsML307 can get a false negative, while normal discovery is unaffected. Restoring case-insensitive matching is a bounded fix. Pre-merge checks |

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Normalize the USB ID comparison in ml307ATInterface.
The previous identity match was case-insensitive. The new helper compares vendorID and productID with ==. The Discover path lowercases both IDs before it calls the helper, so that path is safe. IsML307 is exported and takes any Candidate. A caller that passes uppercase IDs such as 2ECC now gets no match. The old code matched them.
Use strings.EqualFold to keep the old behavior.
Proposed fix
- if vendorID == id.vendorID && productID == id.productID {
+ if strings.EqualFold(vendorID, id.vendorID) && strings.EqualFold(productID, id.productID) {Also applies to: 224-235
