Summary
On MC 26.2, with shaders enabled, Voxy's LOD terrain is not visible: everything
beyond the vanilla render distance is drawn as sky. This reproduces on the
current Sodium/Iris pair; the previous pair works.
Environment
- Minecraft 26.2, Fabric Loader 0.19.5
- Voxy 0.2.19-beta
- Shaderpack: Solas Shader V3.7b
(also reproduced with Photon voxy-support branch and IterationRP 0.8.26)
Version matrix
Same world, same position, same shaderpack.

| 0.9.1 |

✅ LOD visible to the horizon |

| 0.9.2 |

Why this cannot be bisected to a single component
On 26.2, Sodium and Iris are mutually locked:
- Sodium 0.9.2 declares
breaks: iris <=1.11.2, i.e. it requires Iris >= 1.11.3
- Iris 1.11.4 is the release built against Sodium 0.9.2
- The only cross combination (Sodium 0.9.1 + Iris 1.11.4) is not a coherent
pair and produces additional unrelated breakage (black sky, only ~3 blocks
of terrain rendering), so it cannot be used for attribution
So this is a pair-level regression; isolating it to one side is not possible
with the versions currently published for 26.2.
Steps to reproduce
- MC 26.2 + Fabric, install voxy 0.2.19-beta, sodium 0.9.2, iris 1.11.4
- Load a world that has existing LOD data
- Enable shaders
- Look toward distant terrain
Expected
LOD terrain visible beyond the vanilla render distance.
Actual
Everything beyond the vanilla render distance is rendered as sky.
Key observation
Toggling shaders off (Iris keybind) at runtime makes the LOD terrain reappear
immediately, with no world reload — the LOD data and geometry are intact, so
this is in the shader path / depth exposure.
Notes
- Not shaderpack-specific: three different packs show the same LOD
disappearance. Severity varies by pack (Solas: sky otherwise normal;
IterationRP 0.8.26: sky renders black).
- Voxy 0.2.19-beta declares
sodium = =0.9.1, >=0.9.2- <=0.9.2 in its
fabric.mod.json, so the metadata leads users into the broken pair.
Workaround
Pin sodium 0.9.1 + iris 1.11.2 on MC 26.2.
Attachments
- latest.log (broken pair)
- session log, gzipped (working pair)
- voxy-config.json, iris.properties, mod list
- Screenshots, all at identical position and camera angle:
A: shaders OFF, LOD visible
B: shaders ON, LOD replaced by sky (A/B = same session, same spot)
C/D: working pair (0.9.1 + 1.11.2), LOD visible; D has F3 open
E: mismatched pair — black sky, near-field only (included for completeness)
F: same session as E, shaders OFF — everything normal
