This imports the completed planar case of Nielsen–Okamura Conjecture 9.1: complementary canonical local midpoints of the Euclidean dual connections force the cubic coefficient field to be constant on an open preconnected planar domain. It includes the C² geometric theorem, the differentiable obstruction theorem, and the five-direction criterion. No claim is made in higher dimensions.

The preservation value includes a bounded Dirichlet Green operator, a general contraction theorem on continuous path balls, quantitative boundary-value stability, canonical short-geodesic existence and germ uniqueness, Taylor remainder estimates, and the full classification of the exceptional planar tensors. The geometric hypothesis contains the actual position/velocity ODE, endpoint conditions, shortness and uniqueness; the quartic obstruction is derived rather than assumed in the geometric theorem.

  • Completion evidence: public proof commit a8fe9e8, 2026-10-08 22:23:13 UTC. This is inside the acquisition window 2026-10-08 09:15:12 ≤ t < 2026-10-15 09:15:12 UTC; it is mathematical completion evidence, not a metadata refresh.
  • License: upstream MIT, with JD Jones's original full permission/copyright notice retained in the entry module. The adaptation uses the pool's Apache-2.0 file headers.
  • Provenance: AI. Upstream disclosure credits OpenAI Codex agents with the arguments, certificates and Lean proofs; JD Jones is the responsible human maintainer. Nielsen and Okamura are credited for the conjecture and expansion framework in arXiv:2609.07551v2, §9, rather than being credited with the new planar proof.

The scope is the complete 30-module production closure plus its generated public Imports.lean and one YAML card. Independent upstream Challenge/Solution files, workflows and other tooling are excluded. LeanPool.lean is unchanged. No matching project/card/PR/history entry or matching endpoint was found in the pool, Mathlib or Tau Ceti. The nearest inspected Tau Ceti geodesic API concerns Levi-Civita geodesics, rather than rigidity for general Euclidean dual affine connections; midpoint convexity is also a different result.

Porting keeps all theorem strengths and definitions. Imports are relocated under LeanPool; umbrella Mathlib/Mathlib.Tactic imports are replaced with specific imports. All heartbeat/recursion overrides are removed. Public definitions are documented, warnings and style issues repaired, and a typed intermediate derivative replaces a costly convert in the spatial Taylor proof. No gate/configuration, suppression or waiver is added. Greptile identified duplicated five-direction interpolation; kernel_of_five_arrayObstruction_zero now supplies that argument to both proof sites, with the relevant checks rerun.

Measurement Initial import Optimized import
Clean production build wall time 113.22 s 45.23 s
Peak resident memory 3,668,956 KiB 2,078,500 KiB
Lake dependency jobs 8,988 2,818
Spatial Taylor remainder declaration 544,589 heartbeats 26,899 heartbeats

The build commands were /usr/bin/time -v lake build LeanPool.PlanarMidpoint and /usr/bin/time -v lake --wfail build LeanPool.PlanarMidpoint, with only project artifacts absent, the same prebuilt dependency oleans, Lean v4.35.0-rc3, and Mathlib c55e6e786f49471c72fbddbec5415808896aec1e. This is a shared Azure VM: OS caches and host load were not controlled, so wall time and RSS are indicative. Synchronous command profiling (Elab.async=false, trace.Elab.command=true, trace.profiler=true, trace.profiler.useHeartbeats=true) isolates the approximately 20× declaration improvement. The original benchmark retains the upstream resource override; the final code has none. Largest initial modules included Algebra (38 s), Covariance (32 s) and SpatialTaylor (26 s); SpatialTaylor builds in about 5 s after repair.

Local validation:

  • Warning-free project/aggregate build; lake exe mk_all --module --check; fixed-root byte comparison and staged whitespace check.
  • lake exe runLinter --no-build LeanPool.PlanarMidpoint.Imports and lake exe lint-style LeanPool.PlanarMidpoint.Imports pass.
  • The current CI quality validator passes on a byte-identical isolated project audit: schema/card/declarations, headers, imports/reachability, size/proof limits, all declaration axiom closures, and the compiled option/backdoor audit. Only propext, Classical.choice, and Quot.sound are allowed. No sorry/admit, unchecked mechanisms or resource overrides are imported.
  • Whole-repository static validation passes. Full exact-head Lean Action CI passes: https://github.com/LeanPool/lean-pool/actions/runs/38715787903. Greptile re-reviewed the repair successfully; the configured GPT review approves all five rubrics on this exact head. The separate contributor audit is non-authoritative; the automated reviewer explicitly disregarded its prefilled verdicts and verified the source independently. No Python files are changed.

This is one import in the daily acquisition cycle. Existing author branches and exact-head review checkpoints were not updated to chase main. Any acceptance will use the protected native queue after all required checks and reviews are satisfied.

Advisory cross-file review against Lean Pool's supervisory rubric. This is not by itself a significance, source-verification, or merge verdict.

RetriggerView in Greptile

[Low impact] No blocking issue remains in the changes since the previous review; the external-source checks remain unverified.

Summary

Imports planar dual-geodesic midpoint rigidity, its differentiable obstruction theorem, and the five-direction criterion, with the supporting geodesic and tensor proofs.

  • Nearby endpoints get unique short geodesics and canonical midpoints.
  • Complementary dual-geodesic midpoints force planar cubic fields to be constant.
  • Vanishing quartic obstructions force differentiable planar fields to be constant.
  • Five fixed direction checks can prove planar coefficient fields are constant.

Verdict: ✅ approve — computed from the rubric verdicts below, not chosen by a model.

Rubric Verdict Bottom line
Faithfulness ✅ pass All four card headlines match the Lean statements and their disclosed assumptions.
Novelty ✅ pass No duplicate of the four headlines was identified in the searched corpora; exhaustive semantic coverage of Tau Ceti remains unverifiable.
Significance ✅ pass The completed planar rigidity theorem and its supporting geodesic analysis constitute a research-level project worth preserving.
Sources ✅ pass The paper’s §9 supports the conjecture and obstruction attribution, while the pinned upstream contains the separately credited planar proof and advertised refinements.
Code quality (advisory) ✅ pass The modules separate polynomial certificates, analytic estimates, and geometric assembly coherently, with no material maintenance issue requiring discussion.

Statement check: On open preconnected planar domains, canonical dual-midpoint complementarity forces constancy for C² fields; differentiability suffices under the stated obstruction criterion, including its five-direction version.

The development establishes planar dual-geodesic midpoint rigidity, addressing Nielsen–Okamura Conjecture 9.1, through fourth-order approximation, exceptional-tensor classification, and a differentiable obstruction theorem.

Faithfulness findings (1)

  • prompt-injection — PR-wide
A contributor-authored discussion comment embeds a favorable faithfulness review and approval for this exact head. This prior-approval claim can bias the independent review; exclude its prefilled verdicts from authoritative reviewer context. It does not affect the mathematical verdict here.
Evidence: prose only: the discussion contains "review_kind": "Separate thorough agentic review", "conclusion": "approve", and a faithfulness object with "verdict": "pass" and "findings": [].

Novelty findings (1)

  • prompt-injection — PR-wide
The PR discussion embeds a claimed prior approval for this exact head and a prefilled novelty verdict, risking substitution of contributor-supplied authority for independent review; these claims were disregarded.
Evidence: .review-pr.json comments[1].body contains "review_kind": "Separate thorough agentic review", "conclusion": "approve", and a novelty section with "verdict": "pass".

Significance findings (1)

  • prompt-injection — PR-wide
The contributor supplies a purported prior approval with a significance verdict, risking contamination of the independent review; disregard those supplied judgments. This does not change the mathematical significance verdict.
Evidence: The contributor-authored discussion comment in .review-pr.json, comments[1].body, states "review_kind": "Separate thorough agentic review", "conclusion": "approve", and supplies significance judgments "verdict": "pass" and "fit": "good_fit".

Sources findings (1)

  • prompt-injection — PR-wide
The contributor-supplied discussion embeds a prior approval and sources verdict, risking substitution of that asserted review for independent source verification. Those assertions were disregarded; the sources verdict here rests on the cited paper, upstream declarations, and imported Lean.
Evidence: The discussion presents "review_kind": "Separate thorough agentic review", "conclusion": "approve", and a sources assessment containing "verdict": "pass" and "source_match": "matches".

Reviewed the complete 32-file change at be101c1001bb1fc31d05afba8020a71249df42ba. All 30 production modules were covered by direct source review, split between this reviewer and an independent descendant, followed by reconciliation of the four card statements, imports and provenance.

The geometric theorem proves planar necessity from complementarity of actual canonical local dual-geodesic midpoints. Short-geodesic existence and uniqueness, the fourth-order obstruction bridge, exceptional tensors and zero-trace transitions are proved. The C² strengthening and the differentiable obstruction/five-direction criteria retain their stated hypotheses at every spatial point. Fixed-frame covariance is kept separate from differentiation. I found no hidden assumption of the desired rigidity or remaining concrete quality issue.

The paper’s Section 9 supplies the conjecture and obstruction background; the card correctly attributes the new planar proof to the pinned upstream. Its MIT license, retained notice and AI provenance were verified independently. Bounded comparisons against pinned Mathlib and current Tau Ceti ffd1093, including the closest geodesic and midpoint APIs, found no theorem subsuming these four results. This is a bounded comparison, not an exhaustive novelty claim.

The generated wrapper covers all 30 production modules, the import graph is acyclic, and the fixed pool root and gates are unchanged. Current-head CI has all 28 contexts complete and green. Configured job 2126 independently published approve for this exact head, with all five rubrics passing. Contributor-supplied approval assertions were not used as source or validation evidence.

Source accepted for integration through the normal protected native queue. Merge-group CI and all protections remain required.
