The umbrella CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_NONESSENTIAL_TRAFFIC also disables the auto-updater, which is why a5b412a deliberately switched to the granular DISABLE_* flags; the README bullet was never updated to match, and the previous commit trusted the README over the config. Revert the env block to the granular flags, keep the removal of the no-op permissions object, and document the rationale in the README so it survives the next cleanup pass.
CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_FEEDBACK_SURVEY is redundant: the survey already suppresses itself whenever DISABLE_TELEMETRY (or DO_NOT_TRACK) sets a non-default telemetry level. Add DISABLE_FEEDBACK_COMMAND, the current name for the /bug -> /feedback rename, and keep DISABLE_BUG_COMMAND so older Claude Code versions stay covered.
