Description

lib/contract.ts is the largest untested file in lib/ — it wraps every RPC/contract call the frontend makes (mock-mode and live), but has zero unit test coverage.

Task

Add unit tests for the mock-mode code paths at minimum (simulate, submit, poll helpers), mocking fetch/RPC calls as needed. Live-network paths can be covered incrementally.

I'd like to work on this because lib/contract.ts backs nearly every write operation in the app with zero test coverage any regression in simulate, submit, or poll helpers goes completely undetected. I'll add unit tests for the mock-mode code paths with mocked fetch/RPC calls, giving this critical file its first regression protection.
