I have downloads set to 3 but they just 馃憦馃徏 keep 馃憦馃徏 coming 馃憦馃徏 HALP! 馃槵聽#932
Maybe I don't understand what this setting means, but I just have a bunch of channels (no playlists) and set this to 3 thinking I'd get a maximum of three videos per channel...
Except that's not what happens... Some channels are just relentless and keep coming!!! Like Terminators, they just won't stop. Ever. Until my HD space limits are hit...
Also it seems a curious choice to make that a GLOBAL setting and not a PER CHANNEL setting (with a global "default"). Some channels I want more videos than others; I don't see a way to do that (presuming this feature worked as expected)...
That setting controls what gets checked each run, not how many files are kept.
Eg, every time that Youtarr runs automated downloads, it CHECKS the newest X videos on the channel and downloads them if you don't already have them.
As far as how much stuff you want to retain on your server, there are various settings in Settings -> Auto Removal that let you configure automatic deletion of videos based on many things, so that might give you what you are looking for. You can also set specific channels to be completely protected from auto-removal of videos in each channel's settings.
I am closing this as this is intentional behavior for Youtarr.
Fair. It's not entirely clear how that feature works (case in point). But it is "user error" in that case. I still think there should be a simple "Keep max X videos" in each channels' settings... rather than complex rules to prune
