Dhodraj Sundaram

Understanding systems. Building useful software.

Software engineer and tech lead, about four years in industry. I want to know how a mechanism works, why a design was chosen, and what it does not solve.

A knowledge graph with Dhodraj Sundaram at the centre and six domains around him: Reasoning, Systems, Tools and AI, Open source, Learning and Product. Each domain holds concepts such as first principles, concurrency, agent orchestration, published packages, measured results and scope cuts. Labelled links cross domains, for example concurrency informs agent orchestration and measured results set scope cuts. Backend architecture, operating systems, distributed systems, networking and how mechanisms work are grey: interests with nothing public yet. Three callouts explain inverse thinking, systems first, and turning insight into workflow. A footer lists six decision rules, from first principles to goals.

My GitHub contribution grid for the past year, animated as a snake that eats each day with contributions.

A bit of play

A character card: Dhodraj Sundaram, class engineer and tech lead, method first principles. Loadout bars count public work per area, not skill: Reasoning 5 of 5, Systems 1 of 5, Tools and AI 3 of 4, Product 3 of 3, Learning 2 of 3, Open source 2 of 2. Vitals: 26 public repos, 3 packages, Python/TypeScript/JavaScript, since 2021. Inventory: colony, seekly, collectweak, deep-freeze-utility, pmos-companion, hunt-mode, medroute, therionis.

A self-playing career line: a figure walks through four stages, each with its span: Student 2018 to 2022, Graduate 2022 to 2023, Software Engineer 2023 to 2025, and Tech Lead 2025 to present.
