Why

Agents that drive Trayscale kept hitting the same problems. They tried to drive things Xvfb can't show. They built newer GTK libraries that later vanished. They guessed at tailscaled behavior instead of testing it. And verify-trayscale didn't trigger for refactors that changed the accessibility tree without changing how the app looks.

What changed

  • drive-trayscale lists what doesn't work without a GNOME session: screenshots, popovers, combo rows, and returning to the this-machine page.
  • drive-trayscale shows how to run the app against a newer GTK and libadwaita with the PUREGOTK_*_PATH variables, and how to check that the libraries still exist first.
  • drive-trayscale says to answer questions about tailscaled behavior on tsharness, and verify-trayscale now also triggers on widget tree, template, and subclassing refactors.

Scope

Verification

  • TestFillFromBuilder passes under Xvfb inside a GNOME SDK runtime.
  • Loading that same SDK through LD_LIBRARY_PATH fails with the GLIBC_PRIVATE error the skill describes.
