Aoba Client Bugs on Apple Silicon (M4) — DiscordRPC Crash, KillAura Crash, and GUI Issues

Describe the bug

I've encountered several problems while using Aoba Client on my MacBook Air M4.

1. DiscordRPC crashes Minecraft

  • Enabling the DiscordRPC module immediately crashes Minecraft.
  • After restarting, Minecraft may crash again while loading Aoba's saved settings.
  • The crash log indicates an incompatible native library architecture (x86_64 instead of arm64).

2. KillAura crashes Minecraft

  • When another player is behind a wall and KillAura is enabled, Minecraft sometimes crashes.
  • The exact technical cause has not yet been identified.

3. GUI scaling and positioning

  • Some Aoba GUI elements appear smaller or incorrectly positioned.
  • Their clickable areas do not match their visual positions.
  • Minecraft's normal inventory and settings menus work correctly.
  • Changing Minecraft's GUI Scale and fullscreen mode did not resolve the problem.
  • I also had trouble locating the AntiCheat Settings panel.

To Reproduce

DiscordRPC:

  1. Launch Minecraft with Fabric and Aoba.
  2. Open Aoba's ClickGUI.
  3. Navigate to the Misc category.
  4. Enable DiscordRPC.
  5. Minecraft crashes.

KillAura:

  1. Join a Minecraft world with another player.
  2. Have the player stand behind a wall.
  3. Enable KillAura.
  4. Minecraft may crash.

GUI:

  1. Launch Minecraft with Aoba.
  2. Open the ClickGUI.
  3. Observe the positions of buttons and panels.
  4. Click their visible positions.
  5. Some clicks only register at different coordinates.

Expected behavior

  • DiscordRPC should work on Apple Silicon or fail gracefully without crashing Minecraft.
  • KillAura should not cause Minecraft to crash when a target is behind a wall.
  • GUI elements should render and respond to clicks at matching positions.
  • GUI panels should remain accessible within the display.

Screenshots

I can provide screenshots showing the GUI problems and the crash logs.

Desktop

  • Device: MacBook Air M4 (16 GB RAM)
  • OS: macOS 27.2
  • Minecraft: Java Edition 26.3
  • Mod Loader: Fabric
  • Launcher: TLauncher 2.9381
  • Java: 21.0.11
  • Aoba: 1.0.0 (crash logs), with GUI issues also encountered while testing a newer 1.0.3 development build
  • Browser: N/A

Smartphone

Not applicable.

Additional context

The DiscordRPC crash log includes:

java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError
incompatible architecture
have 'x86_64', need 'arm64'

The stack trace points to:

net.aoba.utils.discord.Discord
net.aoba.utils.discord.RPCManager
net.aoba.module.modules.misc.DiscordRPCModule.onEnable

The repeated startup crashes were resolved by resetting Aoba's saved default settings and leaving DiscordRPC disabled.

The KillAura crash needs separate investigation because the provided log confirms the DiscordRPC error, not the KillAura cause.

I would appreciate fixes or guidance for these issues, particularly Apple Silicon compatibility.

    Thanks for reporting these:

    1. I have heard reports of this happening. I implemented what I thought was a fix but clearly it didn't work. Unfortunately I do not have any Apple Silicon devices that I can test it on. Unfortunately all I can do is leave it up to the community to fix. There was a PR but it was riddled with unrelated changes that I wanted to be split.

    2. I will look into this. If you could provide your KillAura settings and logs that would be appreciated.

    3. This should be fixed in the update coming out today thanks to Fix ClickGUI mouse offset on HiDPI/Retina displays #161. If you could try it again after this update, that would be awesome.
