What

steamworks-ffi-node (0.11.3, Sept 2026, no native build) covers achievements, int/float and global stats, leaderboards, cloud, screenshots, Workshop, auth tickets and the on-screen keyboard. steamworks.js (last npm release Aug 2024) lacks leaderboards and global stats but has a proven Windows overlay helper. Neither exposes Timeline markers; those are a few lines of Koffi bindings.

Decision / recommendation

steamworks-ffi-node behind one small interface (src/steam.ts) so the binding can be swapped; borrow steamworks.js's overlay switches if the spike (3.0) shows they're needed.

Done when

• src/steam.ts with a fake for tests
• Loads on Windows (steam_api64.dll) and Linux (libsteam_api.so)
