Steam: listen-check the casino room recordings for background music #147
Description
Part of #142 · Milestone 1: Clean to sell · plan item 1.4
Size: S · Owner-only step: yes
What
Every real recording the game plays, all ten mp3s on main. Everything else is synthesised in the browser. Their licences allow sale, but real venues often have music playing, which is how the ring crowd's murmur and swell had to be replaced (October 2026).

Decision / recommendation
Listen through all ten on headphones before the store page goes up, on the listening page below (it marks times, keeps a listened-through bar and copies the answers grouped by stage). Replace any with music in it, each in its own piece of work.
Done when
- All ten recordings listened through and answered (stage 1: slots, bar, dining; stage 3: murmur, chant, roar, cheer 1, cheer 2, swell, applause)
- Any with music replaced, with credits updated in

Results: owner's listen + Shazam scan (2026-10-27)
The owner listened to all ten through on headphones on the listening page. Each file was also cut into overlapping 10 s windows and sent to Shazam (via
shazamio), both as recorded and band-passed and levelled to lift quiet music under the chatter.Test of the method: the two crowd cuts replaced in October for having music were found by Shazam: the old murmur as "Pandemonium" (Gantaro), the old swell as "Чемпион" (Mitro).
src/sounds/slots.mp3)src/sounds/bar.mp3)src/sounds/dining.mp3)A Shazam match on a free sound-library recording often means a released track used the same sample, so a match alone isn't music. A "no match" doesn't clear a file either: Shazam can't name unreleased or very quiet music.
To replace: the slot machines (a named song at 0:03–0:14, and more faint music after it). Still to decide by ear: the dining room's violin at 0:49 and the chant's faint music at 0:02–0:08.

Owner's verdict (2026-10-27): the dining room and the crowd chant are clean. Only the slot machines (
src/sounds/slots.mp3, "Blijf Bij Mij" by Volumia! at about 0:03–0:14, plus faint music at 0:28–1:32) need replacing. The other nine recordings are cleared.Credits test: the slot machines' credit is fugacious's WOF_slots6 now (…

Done.
Replaced: the slot machines. The old recording ("Amsterdam casino", Dirk-Jan Hanegraaff) had "Blijf Bij Mij" by Volumia! in it. It's now "WOF_slots6" by fugacious (Freesound 145539, CC BY 4.0), cut to its first three spins.
Cleared on 27 Oct: the other nine (bar, dining, and the ring crowd's murmur, chant, roar, cheer 1, cheer 2, swell and applause), after the owner's listen and the Shazam scan above.
