Update the statically linked libusb to 1.0.30 and wasm3 to the unmodified upstream 0.9.0 sources. Validate and compile plugin functions before exposing callbacks, and reject invalid modules without leaking runtime state. Prepare the v0.1.29 security maintenance release.
The USB descriptor regression fails against the old dependency and passes after the update; invalid WASM type validation also fails before the fix. Normal plugin loading and reload behavior remain covered.
Validation: canonical Docker unit tests (2,117 passed, 11 skipped), ReleaseSafe and ThreadSanitizer (2,113 passed, 11 skipped each), formatting, optional WASM/libusb-disabled builds, and x86_64/aarch64 Linux musl release builds all pass. Upstream source integrity and dependency hashes were verified independently.
OSV-2021-689 remains open upstream without a published fixed revision. This release does not claim that advisory is resolved; hardware/UHID tests and a full Nix build were not run.
