AutoDataSmith/README.md

Kenneth Smith / AutoDataSmith

.NET web developer focused on MVC/Razor, APIs, SQL databases, automation, reporting, and practical business systems.

I am an A.S. Web Development student at St. Petersburg College with a long professional background in accounting systems, business operations, reporting, data workflows, and custom web application development.

Most of my professional source code is maintained in private Azure DevOps repositories because it supports active business systems, client data, internal tools, and proprietary workflows. This GitHub profile is used for public coursework, selected project examples, and portfolio-friendly demonstrations.

Current Focus

  • Completing an A.S. in Web Development at St. Petersburg College.
  • Building and maintaining practical web applications using C#, .NET, MVC/Razor, SQL Server, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and REST APIs.
  • Improving business workflows through automation, reporting, data validation, and system integrations.
  • Exploring responsible use of AI-assisted development tools for research, debugging, documentation, and productivity.

Technical Strengths

  • Web development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET MVC, Razor, .NET / .NET Core.
  • Database work: SQL Server, T-SQL, PostgreSQL, stored procedures, reporting, reconciliation, and data validation.
  • Integrations: REST APIs, ERP/DMS connectors, payment/email integrations, and automated data pipelines.
  • Business systems: dashboards, reporting tools, workflow automation, user support, and internal operational tools.
  • Tools: Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, Git, GitHub, SSMS, Power BI, Microsoft 365, Teams, and Slack.

Public GitHub Repositories

The public repositories here are primarily coursework and portfolio-safe examples. They are intended to show coding approach, project structure, and learning progress without exposing private business code.

Useful areas to review:

  • HTML/CSS/JavaScript coursework.
  • JavaScript browser application logic.
  • JavaScript backend coursework using Node/Express concepts.
  • MongoDB/Mongoose exposure in student backend work.
  • File organization, readability, and practical problem solving.

Professional Project Examples

TutorSelect

TutorSelect is a production web application and one of my largest long-term projects. It supports tutoring business operations, customer workflows, staff/admin tools, reporting, and business process management.

The source code is maintained privately because it supports an active business system, but the project represents long-term experience with web application development, database-backed workflows, user support, reporting, and operational automation.

Evernight Online

Evernight Online is a browser-based multiplayer strategy game project demonstrating long-term web application development, database-backed features, user authentication, administrative tooling, deployment, troubleshooting, and ongoing feature support.

AnchorPoint Bookkeeping / AutoDataSmith LLC

AnchorPoint Bookkeeping is a bookkeeping service backed by the systems, accounting, and automation experience of AutoDataSmith LLC.

The public site is business-facing rather than a code portfolio, but it reflects my combined background in accounting operations, reporting, process improvement, and practical business systems.

Professional Background

My background combines software development with accounting, finance, operations, reporting, and process improvement. That gives me a practical perspective on how web applications and databases are used by real teams: they need to be accurate, maintainable, understandable, and useful to non-technical users.

I am especially interested in roles and projects involving:

  • Web applications.
  • API integrations.
  • SQL/database-backed tools.
  • Automation and workflow improvement.
  • Reporting and dashboards.
  • Internal business systems.
  • Practical AI-assisted development workflows.
