[Feature]: Outfit Try-On Feature

Problem Statement

Currently, you can only view created outfits by their individual components. This makes it challenging to visualize the outfit on yourself. For a user like myself, this is one of the most desirable features of a modern wardrobe app (anyone else watched Clueless?).

Proposed Solution

• Allow users to upload a single full-body "profile image".
• In the Outfits menu, allow users to "try-on" clothing by generating an image of the associated clothing items on top of the user's profile image. This image would become saved and associated with the outfit, and could be regenerated in the future.

Alternatives Considered

2D "paper doll" simulations are outdated: generative AI can easily handle this sort of task.

But to be clear, I would love this feature in the self-host version!

If this will not be added to the self-hosted version, this should be hidden from the app in case it detects a self-hosted version. Now it's a feature in the app which does not work for no apparent reason, which is a bad UX.

Agree. I started to set this up and came here to request virtual try-on (something I could contribute to potentially) but seeing an explicit gate even on the self-hosted version makes me question what other 'core' features could be blocked in the future only for the SaaS offering.

This is taken from the FAQ:

"Yes. Wardrowbe is fully open source. You can run the entire app on your own server with Docker Compose. You bring your own AI model (Ollama, OpenAI, or any compatible API). Self-hosting is free forever with full functionality."

Hi @snisarg, that's not how it works. I never implemented VToN on OSS part. It was always on cloud managed repo.

Open source repo and cloud is two different repositories. I have not taken users open source contributions to cloud. There is no gating on anything. If you want to contribute for any feature, please feel free to. It'd always be opensource according to the LICENSE.

IOS app is meant to be for cloud managed only. I made it available for oss so that mobile users can also use it. I working towards making things clean on mobile app for oss and cloud managed users.
