Collection of PDF processing and generation tools built with Rust.

📦 Installation

Download the latest release for your platform from the Releases page.

Both binaries are self-contained — PDF rendering is pure Rust, nothing extra to keep alongside them.

Platform	Prerequisites
🍎 macOS	None. If Gatekeeper blocks the app, right-click → "Open" or run xattr -cr print-junk-gui
🪟 Windows	Visual C++ Redistributable (likely already installed)
🐧 Linux	A few system libraries (GUI only) — see INSTALL.md for package names

🔨 Building from source

# Build everything — PDF rendering is pure Rust (junk-libs-platen), nothing to download
cargo build --release

# Run
cargo run --release --bin print-junk-gui
cargo run --release --bin pdft -- --help

The PDF viewer and the hi-res arXiv figure upgrade are on by default. For a lighter binary without them (the Typesetting/Import mode still works, just without print-resolution figures):

cargo build --release --no-default-features

Linux needs a few development headers for the GUI (X11, OpenGL, GTK):

📋 Releasing a new version

1. Update the version in Cargo.toml → [workspace.package]
2. Commit and push to main
3. Tag and push:

   git tag v0.2.0
   git push origin v0.2.0

4. The Release workflow automatically builds for Linux (x86_64), macOS (x86_64 + ARM), and Windows (x86_64), then creates a GitHub Release with all archives attached.
