would this affect reproducibility if osx and server builds are linked differently?
mold should be a drop in replacement but that doesn't always turn out to be the case, especially if you are experiencing problems with it now

@gsterjov It looks like the mold package is marked as broken on macOS, so devenv shell won't start

error: Package ‘mold-2.40.1’ in /nix/store/xqd9ywn1x5k6cwj3vq3n32ffcqp60a1n-source/pkgs/by-name/mo/mold/package.nix:120 is marked as broken, refusing to evaluate.

The mold creator has said that macOS support is obsolete rui314/mold#863 (comment), and that the macOS alternative sold is no longer mainted & to instead use the native linker
