Hello, have a question. What is the point to have Redis as a dependency in the project? Just to store the checkpoint?

You can run PGSync without Redis in the stack. Redis is now optional when using WAL mode.

Redis is not required in either WAL mode or polling mode:

pgsync -c schema.json -w -d

Redis was originally introduced to help with transactional consistency and to act as a broker between producers and consumers, especially when coordinating database events reliably. One of the considerations was the order in which events were processed being important
