min-items/max-items updating dynamically for responsive webpage

Hi I am trying to update min/max items dynamically in order to make my web page responsive for different screen sizes. when I try to update min-max items on window.resize() function it does not change the min max values.
I have created this plunker where I am trying to update min max values using user input but it does not seem to work.
