Six hours is unusually long, although the first installation can take significantly longer on resource-constrained servers. Your server meets RedAmon’s minimum requirements of 4 CPU cores and 8 GB RAM, but 16 GB RAM is recommended when running the full GVM/OpenVAS stack. The expected time depends on which installation method you use:
Most likely causes of the delay are slow network downloads, limited disk I/O, memory pressure, or a container stuck initializing. How to diagnose itCheck the running containers: docker compose psMonitor GVM feed synchronization: docker compose logs -f gvmdCheck available memory and disk space: free -h
df -hSee the [official troubleshooting guide](https://www.redamon.org/docs/troubleshooting) for additional checks. Bottom line: Six hours is not the expected installation time. If the installation completed successfully, inspect the logs to identify the bottleneck. If it stalled, determine which step stopped progressing before attempting another installation. Do not rerun |
Uh oh!

I used the following command to install it with GVM / OpenVAS (full stack, approximately 30 minutes for the first run):
./redamon.sh install --gvm
I also tried using the deployment script.
My server specifications are:
RAM: 8 GB
CPU: 6 cores
However, it took nearly 6 hours to complete the installation and get everything up and running.
Why is the installation taking so much longer than the expected 30 minutes? Is this normal, or could there be an issue with the installation process, server resources, or deployment script?
