python-mint available on conda-forge

As promised, mint is now available to download and install from the conda-forge Anaconda Cloud channel 🥳🎉🍻

There is package support for py36, py37 and py38 on both linux and osx. I've explicitly not added support for win. Is this something that you wanted?

I'm going to start to iterate on mint and add more pull-requests to cover things like the following

• conforming to black
• conforming to flake8
• adding test code coverage
• adding pre-commit git hooks
• subscribing to pre-commit-ci
• tidy up c++ compilation warnings
• explore calling cmake from setup.py to compile instead of using cython
• explore/discuss moving away from ctypes usage
• linking to libmint from a standard location
• establish sphinx documentation
• automated building and hosting of documentation on rtd
• add Jupyter notebook support through binder
• re-host mint on PyPI as python-mint
• mature entry-points from python to c++
• add asv benchmarking metrics
• explore distributed processing, lazy evaluation and out-of-core processing support with dask
• develop an iris regridding scheme

That's for starters... I'm sure we can keep going. But I'm keen to discuss with you where you ultimately want to take mint and what features you have planned for its future, short and long term.

Hi @bjlittle: Super stoked to see all your contributions and very open to your suggestions.

I don't have any personal need to support Windows at the moment - this will require __declspec(dllexport) to be added to all the function prototype. Of course there might be other portability issues (aka bugs) which are always good to resolve :)

If OK with you you would rather focus on the algorithms and other core improvements while giving you freedom with conda, CI, python interface, iris, ... . One things I had started on was to support edges that cross the poles (ie have a |latitude| > 90). This would be required for the advection problem when there is a meridional wind. Over time going fully 3D might be a reachable goal.

As it stands the improvements you made to mint will likely open up the possibilities the code can be used and that's great!

@pletzer I've created a GitHub mint v1.9.0 Project, so I'm going to create GitHub issues for all of the above and start to take them.

We can use the above Kanban project board to track progress .

I can only test on linux, thanks 👍

@bjlittle tested that conda install python-mint works in a clean python 3.8 environment (the 3 tests run). Thanks!
