From 657c1073b749c63d9921cc9db20f4220cc6583ae Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: erKam Date: Tue, 13 Oct 2026 06:55:35 +0000 Subject: [PATCH 1/4] feat(mcp): add page tools, shipped agent skills and more agent actions Browser agents can find the read-only tools on the page through WebMCP when agent.browserTools is on (off by default). The package ships agent skills with a pangular skills install command, and agents gain TransferState and SSR override tools, a component screenshot tool and a since filter on list-console. See [Redaction](../security.md). +- Answers over 100,000 characters are cut, with a note to narrow the call. +- A WebMCP call resolves to `{content: [{type: 'text', text}]}`. A refused or failed call rejects with the reason. + +The WebMCP registration carries the `readOnlyHint`, `untrustedContentHint` and `debugging` annotations. `debugging` marks them as developer tools rather than features of your app, and the Chrome DevTools MCP server lists WebMCP tools with it under `list_3p_developer_tools`. When the browser has WebMCP of its own, the `devtoolstooldiscovery` group leaves out the tools WebMCP already registered, so Chrome DevTools for agents lists each tool once. + +## Use them from Chrome DevTools for agents + + + + Run your app in development with the overlay, and open it in the Chrome that the Chrome DevTools MCP server controls. + + + Start the Chrome DevTools MCP server with --categoryExperimentalThirdParty=true. The error tools read them, group them and explain the Angular ones. + +## Inspect + +1. `pangular_list-errors` lists error groups, most recent first: id, count, Angular error code, message, the owning component with its instance id, and the source. +2. `explain-error` with the `id` gives the stack of the first occurrence and, for an Angular code, its reference page and a known cause. With `code` (such as `NG0100`) it explains the code and lists the errors that carry it. +3. `list-console` with `level` or `search` finds warnings and logs around the error. + +## Follow the explainer + +| Error | What the explainer gives | Next tool | +| ------------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- | +| NG0100 ExpressionChangedAfterChecked | The binding, previous and current value, the fields and signals that changed it | `inspect-component` on the owner, `inspect-signals` | +| NG0201, `NullInjectorError` | The token and Angular's dependency path | `explain-injection` with `selector` and `token` | +| NG0500 to NG0503 hydration | A diff of the server HTML Angular expected and the client DOM it found | `hydration`, `explain-ssr-request` | +| Navigation errors | (from `explain-navigation`) the guard, resolver or lazy load that failed | `export-navigation` | + +Pass the owner's instance id (like `c12`) to `inspect-component` to read its inputs and state at the time. + +## Fix and verify + +1. Reload or let hot reload run, repeat what triggered the error, then call `list-errors` again. The group's count should stop growing; a new page load starts with an empty list. +3.
