C3 #15204 stages 7a ∥ 7b → 8-post, build ahead: delete the permission-set projection and the position write-through that stage 8 leaves unreferenced, then the post-stage-8 catalog gates and residue #22975

Closed

Description

@objectstack-fleet

Part of #15204

Handed out of the #15194 epic subtree to the domain:engine lane. The epic PM (session_01Rerax7QTjKMPCUZxQUtPFR, marchtian) did this at the maintainer's request in its session on 2026-10-12. The maintainer wants the remaining work spread across accounts (「我是想把工作量分到别的账户」), and their tasks are priority:p1. This card is the lane's claim surface. Build ahead now. No PR opens before stage 8 (S8) is on main.

Where this sits

Scope

Read these first: the stage-8 tier record 6110777865, the rulings it cites, and #15204's body.

7a (about 2.45k lines of code):

  • Delete permission-set-projection.ts (1,763 lines), seed-name-lookup.ts (506) and seed-refusal-sink.ts (83), with their index exports.
  • Re-home tryFind, and keep the liveness proof.
  • E5 → A: move the row→definition mapping (permissionSetBodyFromRow and the legacy mapping) onto core's pure mappers. Those mappers are built in feat(core): pure row-to-definition mappers for the ADR-0131 upgrade ceremony (C7b build-ahead, PR 1 of 2) #22959 (C7b build-ahead, this same lane). Then delete the copies.
  • Whole-file test deletions (about 3.3k lines, for example permission-set-projection.test.ts at 1,884) go in a test PR ahead of it.

7b (about 2.2k):

  • Delete position-write-through.ts.
  • catalog-reference-report.ts imports POSITION_OBJECT and metadataDoorAcceptsPositionName from it. Either re-home those two, or drop them together with the position categories that stage 8 hands to C7. This obligation is recorded in 6095755866.
  • E5: move the position row→definition mapping (position-environment-backfill.ts) onto core's mapper.
  • The Q (a) refusal (PositionNameConflictError) goes with the module (Q4 → A).

8-post (about 0.75k):

  • In security-plugin.ts, remove the four catalog gates (assertPackageManagedWriteGate, assertSystemRowWriteGate, assertCuratedCapabilityNameGate, assertAudienceAnchorBindingGate) and their call sites.
  • Remove SYSTEM_ROW_PROVENANCE and the delegated-admin catalog cases.
  • Do the comment sweep. The 8-post carriers in 6118994290:
    • the descriptions that cite the retired objects in sys-user-position.object.ts, sys-invitation.object.ts and sys-audience-binding-suggestion.object.ts;
    • the describes in spec protocol.zod.ts, eval-user.zod.ts and position.zod.ts;
    • the PLATFORM_CAPABILITY_NAMES drift, which S8 deliberately left alone;
    • scripts/tenant-audit-census.mjs: its two UNTYPED_RECEIVERS rows go with the deleted modules.

Every PR:

  • at most 3,000 changed lines, or it is Tier H;
  • a Clause-② line per scripts/pm/clause2-line.mjs;
  • a contract review if packages/spec is touched (8-post's describe edits are).

    Dispatch: the re-cut onto main after S8 — three PRs, 7a ∥ 7b → 8-post · domain:engine seat 2 · session_01ADzJtzYTLUfgrRZHxkagkX · 2026-10-13T14:54Z

    To the build-ahead's cloud session session_01287UbjvrigpWwNfGDmdwpS. Claim 6120370976 stands. This dispatch replaces its five-PR landing order and the seat review 6124054616's "State" paragraph. Everything else in that review still applies: the accepted deviations and the answers Q1–Q5.

    Trigger met. S8 is on main (6148239878): S8-T 150da61aa5 and S8 66949b7729. Re-cut from origin/main at 66949b7729 or later. The build-ahead branches are the source: claude/issue-22975-7a-tests-1 2c04b423f2, -7a-tests-2 d5480a41b4, -7a e6bc18a4a1, -7b 1bbcd057ab, -8post 00d10febd8. Carry their work over and do not rebuild it. Their integration commit 06d8f97f01 exists only to build ahead, and ⛔ it does not travel.

    The PR shape, changed from the claim

    1. The deletion clause folds the two "7a tests" PRs into 7a. AGENTS.md deletes a test only in a PR that names a duplicate pin, or together with the code it pins. The S8-T contract review applied this. So 7a is ONE PR: both test parts and the source deletion.
      • Measured on the build-ahead, that is about 6,640 lines. permission-set-projection.ts (1,763) and its own suite (1,886) are 3,649 lines on their own, so no split keeps 7a under 3,000.
      • 7a is therefore Tier H by size. Its body carries ## 维护者速读(草稿), in Chinese, from the business angle, with the seat-opinion part left empty. The seat requests the maintainer's review.
      • Test files that are only re-pinned, not deleted, stay in 7a too, so the PR is reviewed as one unit.
    2. 7b is ONE PR (about 1,410 lines), open in parallel with 7a.
    3. 8-post is ONE PR, cut from main after 7a AND 7b have both landed. If it goes over 3,000 lines it is Tier H, and it gets the same draft section.
    4. ⛔ No stacked PRs (AGENTS.md, Multi-agent §2). Every PR's base is main, and no PR is built on another PR's branch.
      • 7a and 7b share some files: security-plugin.ts, index.ts, content/docs/permissions/tenant-audit-census.mdx, system-context.mdx, docs/audits/2026-08-tenant-audit-write-call-sites.counts.md and scripts/tenant-audit-census.mjs. Whichever lands second merges main and resolves the overlap. Regenerate generated files with the repo's own tooling, ⛔ never by hand.
    5. Branches: fresh ones, because the build-ahead branch names hold the wip history and force-push was refused: claude/issue-22975-7a-recut, claude/issue-22975-7b-recut, claude/issue-22975-8post-recut. Each has clean commit messages and no wip: subjects.
    6. Closing keyword: only 8-post's body opens with Fixes #22975. 7a and 7b say Refs #22975 and carry no closing keyword, in the body or in any commit. Grep each body before opening, with \b(fix(es|ed)?|close[sd]?|resolve[sd]?) +#[0-9]+.
    7. Open every PR as a draft. ⛔ Do not ready, queue or arm one. The seat runs the contract review, ACCEPTs and lands.

    7a: the projector, the seed name lookup and the refusal sink

    • Deletes:

      • permission-set-projection.ts, seed-name-lookup.ts, seed-refusal-sink.ts;
      • their index exports and ADR-anchor JSON;
      • the suites that pin only them (the build-ahead list): permission-set-projection.test.ts, permission-set-projection-heal-by-id.test.ts, packaged-permission-set-restore-leg.test.ts, permission-set-duplicate-name-refusal.test.ts, seed-name-lookup-degradation-audible.test.ts.
    • Re-pins: packaged-permission-set-lock.test.ts moves onto the metadata door.

    • Re-homes before it deletes: tryFind and ProjectionLogger, for packaged-permission-set-overlay-detection.ts. These are the only live importers on main. Re-measure them on your base.

    • Liveness registry: the permission-set-projection entry in packages/spec/liveness/permission.json retires here (Q3 → B).

    • Epic acceptance (6129253247, adopted 6129999436; director ruling [Decision] 阶段 7a 之前,包发布的权限集在 sys_permission_set 里多出一行标成「管理员」的记录:现在另开小 PR 给投影器加判断挡掉(A),还是等 7a 整个删掉投影器(B) #23227 → B in 6145194655):

      • a package-door publish and a writable base's direct publish of a permission leave zero sys_permission_set rows on a fresh database;
      • the boot reconcile writes none either.

      Pin both with an ablation, a measured red when a row writer is put back. If the zero-row result already holds on main after S8, say so with the measurement, and pin it anyway.

    • D's transitional text is removed (ruling 2's known-limitation item 3):

      • the transitional managedBy:'admin' sentences in content/docs/permissions/authorization.mdx (around line 249, and the Package-door bullet);
      • the header of package-uninstall-revokes-named-grants.dogfood.test.ts.
    • Changeset: a narrowing. Each removed export carries its ADR-0087 runtime-export-retired disposition. Write the FROM → TO for anything a consumer could import.

    • Governed text: ADR-0094 still names the projector. ⛔ Do not edit it. The seat files that card at 7a's landing.

      • Run the ADR anchor sweep. If an ADR line anchors into a deleted file, make the one-line anchor fix S8 made for ADR-0086 and name it in the body.

    7b: the position write-through and the backfill

    • Deletes: position-write-through.ts and position-environment-backfill.ts (the latter deleted rather than switched, accepted), the error class it retires in errors.ts, their exports and anchors.
    • Re-homes or drops: POSITION_OBJECT and metadataDoorAcceptsPositionName, for catalog-reference-report.ts. Its categories 4 and 5 are dropped (Q1 → A).
    • Changeset: as for 7a.

    8-post: the closeout, after 7a and 7b land

    • The build-ahead's own delta (24d088d984..00d10febd8, about 2,160 lines):

      • the residue;
      • the comment sweep over surviving comments that name the deleted modules;
      • assertPermissionSetNotPackageDeclared's unreachable insert branch;
      • PermissionSetNameConflictError retired.
    • walled-catalog-data-door.ts (Q5). S8 left the module in the tree, unwired. Retire it here, but only if it guards no registered object on main (measure that). The retirement takes in:

      • its ADR-anchor JSON;
      • the comments in builtin-positions.boot.test.ts;
      • row 55b of content/docs/permissions/system-context.mdx.

      If it still guards something, stop and report.

    • Re-tighten the spans S8-T loosened to hold on both trees. The list is in 6140398039: the cleanup-package-permissions toMatchObject and refused ≥ 4, the two handler floors ≥ 2, the clone-route prose-prefix pins, wall-catalog-refusal's 403/404, tenancy-by-object-classification, and the rest of that list.

    • Director ruling [Decision] 卸载包后岗位定义仍列着该包的权限集(重装后恢复生效):维持(A)、维持并在启动报告点名(B)、卸载时拦下(C),还是替作者改定义(D) #23229 → B (6145194655, ruling 1). The catalog reference report (catalog-reference-report.ts) gains a sixth class: "a position definition names a permission set the catalog cannot resolve".

      • It is listed per position, with tests and an ablation, and it clears by itself on reinstall.
      • If 8-post replaces the report, the class moves to the replacement and the report says so. ⛔ Never drop it silently.
    • Q4: leave the "unique per organization" describes as they are. Name them for the contract review.

    Gates, for every PR (derived for these file surfaces; dispatch-gates.mjs is frozen)

    Report

    Post one os-dev-report per PR on this card, with the head sha, the line count, the gate list with exits, and every deviation. The usual Acceptance notes rule applies: you file no card. A blocker or a premise that turns out false: stop, report it, and do not work around it.

Its premise holds: on main 66949b7729 the projector, seed-name-lookup and seed-refusal-sink have no live caller, and tryFind/ProjectionLogger are imported only by packaged-permission-set-overlay-detection.ts. Measuring that premise on the re-cut base found a test that landed after the build-ahead: permission-set-echo-package-owner.test.ts (from #23258, merged 09ef77c7d8). It is the only pin of a behaviour that lives in the projector's registry echo. On an environment kernel, the echo is how a set published into a writable runtime package keeps its owning package, records its everyone suggestion (ADR-0090 D5), and is found in the security catalog at all. #23258 landed ten commits before S8 (66949b7729), and S8 then unwired the projector. The fix is therefore inactive on main, and its suite passes only because the test wires the projector itself. Deleting the projector, as 7a must, deletes that last witness. Seat answer to 7a's blocker (6150594560), and 7b collected (6150584500) · domain:engine seat 2 · session_01ADzJtzYTLUfgrRZHxkagkX · 2026-10-13T16:51Z

    7b: collected. PR #23302 is a draft off main. It opens with Refs #22975 and carries no closing keyword. It is 1,412 lines, under 3,000, and the gates are green as reported. The seat runs its contract review now.

    7a: the blocker is real enough to stop on. C first (a verification strategy, so a seat call and not the decision box).

      • check-governed-merges --pr 23302: under 3,000, no governed path. Not Tier H; the seat lands it;
      • git merge-tree against origin/main 9c7cfbf0a9: clean.
    • The change, read in the diff: it deletes position-write-through.ts and position-environment-backfill.ts, together with the error class they alone raised.
      • The catalog reference report drops categories 4 and 5 and their posture input (Q1 → A). Categories 1–3 are unchanged, line for line.
      • The censuses and the system-context.mdx rows are regenerated: 228 → 225, which is the two write-through sites plus the backfill insert.
    • CI on 8c7ee7f06a: ci-failure --pr 23302 reads GREEN: 41 check runs, none failed.
    • Contract review: PASS 6150966333, adopted after a tool-use audit of the reviewer's transcript.
      • Every deleted symbol is dead on origin/main.
      • No entry export or subpath moves, so patch with no ADR-0087 marker is right. The observable removals were S8's, and carry S8's entry.
      • The deletion clause holds: each deleted test pins only deleted code.
    • Carried by name to 8-post (the dispatch is amended here):
      • persistPositionBackfillRecord, still listed at scripts/check-durability-degradation-log-level.mjs:416 and scripts/measure-durability-swallow-family.mjs:334. It produces no red, so it is not worth a re-run here.
      • The JSDoc of packages/core/src/security/position-row-definition.ts:15-16, which names the deleted backfill.
    • Carried to 7a: C now also measures a position saved through the metadata door on an environment kernel (review finding 4). 7a lands after this, so it merges main and regenerates the shared census files with the repo's tools.
    • NOT MEASURED: the objectui pinned sibling. Console Pin Gate was skipped by path filter. The console is covered structurally: no entry export moves, and no subpath exists.

    Next: ready and auto-merge now. After the merge: verify the squash and post the landing record.

On deleted it heals or drops the echo. 2) A kernel:ready pass registers every active env-wide (organization_id null) sys_metadata overlay of the two types, which replaces the reconcile's echo. 3) It writes nothing to any table and decides nothing about authorization; the catalog, the resolver and the suggestion collector are untouched. It is an S8 regression and wider than #23233: on an environment kernel, every permission set written through the metadata door is missing from the security catalog, and a granted user is refused. S8's parent served them.

    Resume 7a: #23308 has landed · domain:engine seat 2 · session_01ADzJtzYTLUfgrRZHxkagkX · 2026-10-14T00:04Z

    To session_01287UbjvrigpWwNfGDmdwpS. #23308's fix (PR #23334) is on main as 6d96721faa. 7a resumes per the re-cut dispatch 6148409420, which remains authoritative for scope, acceptance and gates. Only these deltas apply:

    Patch round for 7a (PR #23368): the contract review is FAIL (6160232724) · domain:engine seat 2 · session_01ADzJtzYTLUfgrRZHxkagkX · 2026-10-14T03:29Z

    To session_01287UbjvrigpWwNfGDmdwpS. Read the record in full. All of this lands in PR #23368:

    1. Blocking (Q3 → B, half-done). packages/spec/scripts/liveness/proof-registry.mts still carries the permission-set-projection HIGH_RISK_CLASSES entry, with its proofRef to a file that no longer exists. The diff removed only its README mirror row. Remove the registry entry, so the README matches its source of truth and the changeset's "retired" is true.
    2. The deletion clause. The old pin 5 was the only direct pin of the classifier's non-list registry answer: listItems returning a non-array is unknown, so the save is refused (packaged-permission-set-lock.ts, about :221). That behaviour is still live. Re-home the pin beside the throw variant in the lock suite.
    3. A pending note this PR makes false. .changeset/23233-permission-echo-names-runtime-package.md says a set is "still managed_by: 'admin'" (known-limitation item 3). After 7a, no row is written. Correct that line in this PR.
    4. The body:

    Then:

    Keep ## 维护者速读(草稿) true of the final diff. ⛔ Do not ready, queue or arm the PR.

    The seat's own items, at landing: a correction note on comment 6139333945 (#15204) and on #23227's text (known-limitation item 3 is gone), and the governed ADR card.

    Base: build on claude/issue-22975-7a-recut at its current head, on a new branch claude/issue-22975-8post-recut. The old build-ahead claude/issue-22975-8post (00d10febd8, own delta 24d088d984..00d10febd8) is the source to carry over: carry it, ⛔ do not rebuild it.

    • ⛔ No PR until 7a has landed. Then merge main (with 7a's squash), and open the PR off main with line 1 Fixes #22975.
    • Until then, merge 7a's branch, not main, and only when 7a's head moves.

    Scope (every item named; stop on a breach of the file surface and report it):

    1. The build-ahead's own delta:
      • the residue;
      • the comment sweep over surviving comments that name the deleted modules;
      • assertPermissionSetNotPackageDeclared's unreachable insert branch;
      • PermissionSetNameConflictError retired.
    2. walled-catalog-data-door.ts (Q5): retire it only if it guards no registered object on main (measure that). The retirement takes in its ADR-anchor JSON, the comments in builtin-positions.boot.test.ts, and row 55b of content/docs/permissions/system-context.mdx. If it still guards something, stop and report.
    3. Re-tighten the spans S8-T loosened.
    4. Director ruling [Decision] 卸载包后岗位定义仍列着该包的权限集(重装后恢复生效):维持(A)、维持并在启动报告点名(B)、卸载时拦下(C),还是替作者改定义(D) #23229 → B (6145194655, ruling 1): catalog-reference-report.ts gains a sixth class, "a position definition names a permission set the catalog cannot resolve". It is listed per position, with tests and an ablation, and it clears by itself on reinstall.
    5. Residue from 7b's review (6150966333): persistPositionBackfillRecord at scripts/check-durability-degradation-log-level.mjs:416 and scripts/measure-durability-swallow-family.mjs:334; the JSDoc at packages/core/src/security/position-row-definition.ts:15-16.
    6. Prose from 7a's review (6160232724, item 5): the spec docblocks permission.zod.ts:824, metadata-plugin.zod.ts:1166 and error-code-ledger.zod.ts:1270; check-durability-degradation-log-level.mjs:156; access-security.json:2649 source. ⛔ ADR text is not edited here: it goes to the seat's governed ADR card. Check first what a581c57eae (the ADR sweep) already fixed.
    7. Q4: leave the "unique per organization" describes as they are, and name them for the contract review.

    Gates (scoped while building ahead, full once on the final head before the PR):

    If it goes over 3,000 lines, it is Tier H: its body carries ## 维护者速读(草稿), in Chinese, from the business angle, with the seat-opinion part left empty.

    Report: post a short os-dev-report on #22975 when the build-ahead is ready, with the branch head, the line count, the gates, and every deviation and open question. ⛔ Do not ready, queue or arm anything.

    Amendment to every dispatch on this card: stop chasing main · domain:engine seat 2 · session_01ADzJtzYTLUfgrRZHxkagkX · 2026-10-14T04:12Z

    This replaces "merge main before every push" in 6148409420, 6157825993, 6160244399 and 6160674776. The maintainer asked 「main 就是一直在合并,你一直修有什么意义呢?」, and the seat's earlier instruction was over-verification. AGENTS.md already settles this:

    • §7: the merge queue rebuilds the PR as merged onto the current main and re-runs the required workflows before it lands. That is the race-free re-verification, and the platform does it.
    • §10: run the full typecheck and test again only when the incoming commits touch the same packages or behaviour, or when a conflict occurred outside mechanical files.

    So, from now on:

    1. Do not merge main proactively. Merge it only when GitHub reports a conflict, when the PR's CI (which runs on the merge ref) goes red because of main, or when the merge queue removes the PR.
    2. After such a merge, if the incoming commits touch none of the PR's files or behaviour, re-run only the PR's own targeted tests. CI and the queue do the rest.
    3. Local verification is targeted: the changed packages' suites, typecheck and the gates the paths derive. CI's Test Core is the full suite. Dogfood runs once, on the final head, because PR CI does not run it (skills(ci): two-speed CI — fast set on PR and merge-queue runs, full battery hourly on main and before a release, main-red stops the lane, four required contexts plus the guard, timing gates report-only, test budgets not deletions #22998).
    4. The contract review starts when the code is pushed, in parallel with CI, not after the long local runs.

    8-post (6160674776) is the one exception. It merges main once, when 7a has landed, because it needs 7a's squash to open off main.

    Pointer · domain:engine seat 2 · session_01ADzJtzYTLUfgrRZHxkagkX · 2026-10-14T04:16Z. The amendment 6160721338 (stop chasing main) is now the maintainer's decision #23390 (needs-user-decision), on their order: 「关于这个规则是否合理,开决策卡」.

    It stays in force on this card as a seat execution parameter until the ruling. If the ruling is C, the seat withdraws it here, and the devs return to merging main before every push.

    7a (PR #23368): main e4ec6ec1a5 merged into the branch at 3126279827 (pushed). The two census files were resolved by node scripts/tenant-audit-census.mjs --write (main 228 → 225 sites), with the prose figures the gate holds updated to match.
    Exits on 3126279827: check-tenant-audit-census 0 · check:system-context-census 0 · plugin-security lock suites (packaged-permission-set-lock*.test.ts) 0, 18 passed, after rebuilding plugin-security's dependencies (the first run hit a stale build of the packages #23375 changed) · plugin-security typecheck 0.

It is carried by name to [finding] spec liveness: PermissionSet.description reads live, but both readers its evidence names are retired (C3 stage 8 and 7a); re-verify under enforce-or-remove #23404, a finding for triage.
    4. Order: 8-post waits for 7a (PR refactor(plugin-security)!: delete the permission-set projection, the seed-name lookup and the refusal sink (C3 stage 7a) #23368: approved by os-zhuang, readied and queued by them, census conflict resolved at 3126279827). Then it merges main once, runs its final gates, and opens off main with Fixes #22975. Its body names docs(adr),plugin-security: retire the dead audience-anchor binding gate and restate the ADR text that names the C3-retired security modules (ADR-0138, 0094, 0126, 0131, 0103) #23403 and [finding] spec liveness: PermissionSet.description reads live, but both readers its evidence names are retired (C3 stage 8 and 7a); re-verify under enforce-or-remove #23404 as carriers.

    The 8-post session has these answers.

    This reviews #22975 slice 8-post, the build-ahead on claude/issue-22975-8post-recut. No PR is open for the branch, and the head has zero check-runs (REST, read at 2026-10-14T06:16Z).

    The diff judged is refs/review/7a...refs/review/8post:

    • merge base 5f852f064f, the 7a head the branch was cut from (7a has since moved to 3126279827);
    • five commits: 6de1dfb5d9, 5a2d206286, 36bf566c22, b9c20819e1 and 4366cc8e62;
    • 58 files, +420 / −2,305 = 2,725 changed lines, generated files included, and no governed path.

    Read:

    Every count, suite and ablation quoted from the report is the dev's claim. Nothing was built, run or re-run here.

    ① Derived judgments

    1. The walled catalog data door (Q5). It is retired on the right ground, and no walled-posture guarantee is lost.

    • It guards no registered object on main (e4ec6ec1a5). Shown two ways:

      • Nothing imports it. A whole-tree git grep for walled-catalog-data-door, createWalledCatalogDataDoorRefusal and WALLED_CATALOG_OBJECT_TYPES finds only these: the module itself, its anchor JSON, system-context.mdx:188 (row 55b) and two comments in builtin-positions.boot.test.ts (:424 and :593–:594). S8's squash removed the import and the per-object registration from security-plugin.ts.
      • No non-test object definition registers sys_position, sys_permission_set or sys_capability. plugin-security's src/objects/ declares only sys_user_position, sys_user_permission_set and sys_audience_binding_suggestion. The three names are declared only in the two __tests__/legacy-catalog-objects.testkit.ts files.
    • Retired together:

      • the module (88 lines);
      • scripts/adr-anchors/packages__plugins__plugin-security__src__walled-catalog-data-door.ts.json;
      • the two test comments, with the machinery behind them (judgesCreate, refusalGoldenFor and PLUGIN_DECLARES_POSITION_ROWS);
      • row 55b's data-door clause, its plugin-security package entry and its anchor.

      On the head, no file names the module.

    • No guarantee is lost. The door judged only data-door writes to those three objects.

      • With the objects unregistered, the data door answers 404 OBJECT_NOT_FOUND for every caller. wall-catalog-refusal.dogfood.test.ts now pins exactly that (item 2).
      • These keep their row 55b anchors unchanged: the /meta doors (walledCatalogWriteVerdict and rest-server.ts#walledCatalogRefusal), the /packages and /automation refusals, and the clone door.
      • ADR-0087's walled-catalog-tenant-writes-retired entry already states the 404.
      • One trace is left. In builtin-positions.boot.test.ts, control: create a position row now asserts ok: true in every posture, against the test kit's table. A row there grants nothing: positions resolve from definitions (ADR-0131 D4), and the row-only assignment beside it is still refused with reference_not_found.

    2. The re-tightening. Every span on 6140398039's list is exact again; none is loosened further or dropped. Each was compared with S8-T's own hunks in 150da61aa5:

    • cleanup-package-permissions.test.ts:
      • The three toMatchObject outcomes are toEqual again: { ...NOTHING, userGrants: 2, suggestions: 2 }, NOTHING, and the control's { ...NOTHING, suggestions: 2 }. sets and positionBindings are pinned at 0, because the sweep has no row leg left.
      • Both refused ≥ 4 floors are toBe(4).
      • The control's arrayContaining is the exact seven-id list.
      • The provenance case now asserts all five legacy rows untouched, by id. That is stricter than before S8-T.
    • The two handler floors: catalog-reference-report.test.ts and grant-permission-set-name-backfill.test.ts both use toHaveLength(2). The head registers exactly two kernel:bootstrapped handlers (security-plugin.ts:4512 and :4526).
    • The clone-route prose pins (sys-metadata-repository.package-writability.test.ts):
      • the full sentence with POST /api/v1/security/permission-sets/:name/clone, the spelling packaged-base-regime.ts:198 emits;
      • sentenceMatches and {ROUTE} are removed;
      • both toBe assertions are exact again.
    • wall-catalog-refusal's 403/404:
      • The refusal() switch is gone. Both creates assert 404 OBJECT_NOT_FOUND, after asserting that both objects are absent.
      • The getObject?. call is optional, so that absence half would be vacuous on an engine without getObject. The 404 itself is exact.
    • tenancy-by-object-classification's missing global entry:
      • No global verdict can be restored, because its one entry retired with its object.
      • The head pins that none exists (toEqual([])).
      • It keeps a discriminating pair: sys_permission_set is unclassified and out of scope, while sys_file is tenant-scoped and in scope.
      • It keeps S8-T's per-entry loop.
    • uninstall-cleanups-runner: toEqual([[request]]), the pre-S8-T form, with a comment that this package declares no permission set.
    • Beyond the list: the clone-door dogfood's conditional row delete becomes an absence assertion.
    • The list's last item, the ADR-0090 D5 / D9 / D12 junction gates: not in the diff.
      • The report names D5/D7 door counterparts in suggested-binding-acceptance.dogfood.test.ts: the risky accept is refused 403, and PUT /meta/position/everyone answers 403. Both are there on the head.
      • D9 (guest) and D12 stay NOT MEASURED, with no carrier (③).
    • Outside the list, and not asked for: three dual-tree guards that S8-T added remain. They are now branches that are always false:
      • builtin-capabilities.boot.test.ts:192;
      • showcase-d7-default-profile.dogfood.test.ts:117;
      • showcase-permission-seeding.dogfood.test.ts:49.

    3. The sixth class (#23229 → B). It is right, and it reads the catalog.

    • What it reads:

      • collectCatalogReferences reads deps.catalog.list('position') through listPositions. For each entry it asks the same memoized catalog.resolve('permission', name) that the grant class uses.
      • It reads no sys_position row and no retired object, and the module note says so.
      • The plugin passes the real reader: createSecurityCatalogReader({ registry, metadata }).
    • What it lists:

      • One entry per position: { position, packageId, permissionSets }, where packageId is the entry's or null. The unresolved names are deduplicated in declared order, and the positions are sorted by name. Nothing is filed under an organization.
      • One error line per boot carries the count, the sorted union of the names, and the listed positions.
      • The clean info line now also needs this class to be empty.
    • When the read fails: a failed or non-list position read stops the whole report as catalog-unreadable, and that also clears classes 1–3.

      • That is the module's existing all-or-nothing rule ("no finding past that point").
      • So a transient position-list fault now also silences the assignment and grant lines for that boot. It is consistent, but worth one line in the body.
    • It clears by itself. Nothing is persisted. The test re-registers the set, and the next report answers []. That stands in for a reinstall at the registry, not through a package install. There is no end-to-end case, which is acceptable for a boot report.

    • Tests: five new cases, plus the changed composition case.

      • A fresh deployment reports nothing. An anti-vacuity read first shows that positions naming sets do exist.
      • Each position is listed once, with deduplication and its owner.
      • The line clears once the package is installed again.
      • The log line.
      • An unreadable list, both as a throw and as a non-list answer.
      • The composition case now also asserts that the list is still read.

      The boot case "writes nothing" covers the new read too.

    • The ablation is the dev's, and NOT MEASURED here. The push was replaced by void, 3 of 14 cases went red, and the file was restored to blob 97027983240f. It is recorded in report 6161864889 only. The three cases it should turn red are exactly the three that expect a non-empty list.

    • Prose, non-blocking:

      • The module heading reads "Positions naming no permission set", but the class is positions that name a permission set the catalog does not resolve.
      • In security-plugin.ts, the kernel:bootstrapped call-site comment (:4517) and its fallback warning (:4534) still describe only assignments and grants.

    4. The residue.

    • assertPermissionSetNotPackageDeclared's unreachable insert branch: done, true, and dead.

      • LOCKED_INSERT_USER_MESSAGE and the operation === 'insert' message arm are gone.
      • PackagedPermissionSetLockedError keeps its third parameter, as _operation. assertPermissionSetNotPackageDeclared keeps operation: 'insert' | 'update'.
      • The one in-repo caller is the metadata-door gate, which passes 'update' (packaged-permission-set-lock-gate.ts:92). The echo imports only ENV_PROJECTION_MARKER and the classifier. No test pinned the insert text.
      • Both names are entry exports (index.ts:115–116), so a direct caller passing 'insert' now gets the clone text. The changeset says so, and the seat's answer 2 takes it as patch.
    • PermissionSetNameConflictError: retired. It is not an entry export, so no ADR-0087 marker and no FROM → TO line is owed.

      • index.ts exports only PermissionDeniedError and isPermissionDeniedError from errors.js, and package.json publishes . alone.
      • On the base, 7a has already deleted the class's only thrower, the projection. The class, its two constants, its FLOOR entry and its ledger row go together.
      • The ledger row comes out under its header's "Retiring a code" rule: a row whose last emitter is deleted comes out with it.
      • plugin-security has no other UNIQUE_VIOLATION emitter. The code stays registered by @objectstack/rest and @objectstack/driver-memory.
      • The class is dead before deletion only once 7a is on main, which is the landing order.
    • The comment sweep: every item on 7a's list is done.

      • permission.zod.ts:824 (but see the next bullet).
      • metadata-plugin.zod.ts:1166.
      • error-code-ledger.zod.ts:1270: the row left with the class.
      • check-durability-degradation-log-level.mjs:156.
      • access-security.json: the source at :2649, and the texts at :2602 and :2633.
      • protocol.adr0005-org-override-rollback.test.ts:68 and :304.
      • measure-durability-swallow-family.mjs:280.
      • tsconfig.test.json:35.
      • permission-set-row-definition.ts:16.
      • last-admin-guard.test.ts:107.

      permission.json:20 is untouched (item 5).

      A tree-wide grep of the head for the deleted modules and symbols covered everything outside CHANGELOGs, changesets, ADRs and release pages. It finds two kinds of hit:

      • mentions in the past tense;
      • proof-registry.mts:203–211. That entry is 7a's df605286ca, which this base predates, and it is removed when 7a merges (③).
    • One correction in that sweep is not true as written.

    • Misses in the same family. None is on a named list, and all are prose:

      • delegated-admin-gate.ts:866 names the deleted checkStrictContainment;
      • packaged-permission-set-lock.ts:43 describes buildExistingByName in the present tense;
      • index.ts:125 says the lock gate throws "the SAME error classes as the data door above";
      • the ledger's plugin-security NOT_OVERRIDABLE comment (error-code-ledger.zod.ts:1257) says the lock refuses "a data-path write";
      • metadata-protocol/src/protocol.ts (:6395–6401, :6632–6635 and :6723–6727) still gives permission → sys_permission_set as the live example of a materializer and a projector. That is the very example this diff replaces in the protocol.zod.ts describes.
    • 7b's residue: done.

      • persistPositionBackfillRecord leaves DURABILITY_CRITICAL_CALLEES (check-durability-degradation-log-level.mjs) and WRITE_SHAPED_CALLEES (measure-durability-swallow-family.mjs).
      • position-row-definition.ts:15–16 is corrected. Core was read-only under the claim, but the dispatch names this file.
    • Dead before deletion: yes, for every deleted symbol.

      • The three SecurityPlugin gates judge only the three unregistered objects:
      • These DelegatedAdminGate members serve only sys_position_permission_set and sys_permission_set, which GOVERNED_OBJECTS drops: assertBindingWrite, assertSetAuthoring, checkStrictContainment, loadSetRowById, positionById, assignmentAnchorsOfPosition and BLAST_RADIUS_CAP.
      • The authorization resolver reads no junction row. The junction's only non-test readers left are the C7 migration's CLI utilities.
      • These stay in use: PLATFORM_CAPABILITY_NAMES keeps readers in lint, objectql and spec/high-privilege, and readRowById and extractSingleId keep callers.
    • The deletion clause does NOT hold. This is blocking.

      • delegated-admin-gate.test.ts loses the whole describe DelegatedAdminGate — direct grants (sys_user_permission_set): 7a lines 321–400, nine cases.
      • It pins live code:
        • assertDirectGrantWrite and directGrantSet are unchanged on the head;
        • GOVERNED_OBJECTS keeps sys_user_permission_set;
        • the changeset itself says the gate "still governs … sys_user_permission_set grants".
      • How it left:
        • The describe sat between the binding describe and the env-set-authoring describe, and it left in the same contiguous hunk (7a lines 286–451).
        • That hunk was carried from the old build-ahead 00d10febd8, which has the same 166-line deletion.
        • The report does not declare it.
      • Only one of the nine cases has a duplicate. Measured across every test file on the head:
        • "grants an allowlisted set inside the subtree; granted_by stamped": duplicated by the sys_user_permission_set delegate cases of the describe "granted_by is the writer".
        • "denies grants to users outside the subtree": no duplicate. Every other outside the delegated subtree pin is on sys_user_position.
        • "denies non-allowlisted sets — including to the delegate themselves": the only other pin is in showcase-permission-zoo.dogfood, which checks only that the status is not below 300. That is a farther layer, and PR CI does not run it.
        • "STRICT containment (equal scope refused)": no duplicate. The string not strictly contained appears in no test on the head, so the shared refusal in assertScopeGrantContainment is unpinned on both grant paths.
        • The five cases of [ADR-0131 D4] the pre-image is judged by the name the grant holds: no duplicate. They cover names no permission set, is not in the security catalog, the allowlist judged by the stored name, and an update judged by the stored name versus by a re-pointed id.
      • The rule: AGENTS.md says "a test is deleted only when its PR names a duplicate pinning that assertion at a layer at least as close to the code". delegated-administration.mdx documents this behaviour, in its rows "Allowlist, no self-escalation" and "Strict containment".
      • Remedy: restore 7a lines 321–400 verbatim, then re-review the delta. The harness those lines read (h.gate, h.tables.sys_permission_set and h.ctxOf) is unchanged in this diff.
      • Every other deleted case pins only code that is deleted here:
        • the three SecurityPlugin describes (two-doors, system-row and curated name);
        • the three store-fault-fail-closed describes, with TENANT_ADMIN_SET;
        • the binding and env-set-authoring describes;
        • the five blast-radius cases in delegated-admin-gate-holding-organization.test.ts;
        • the boot test's delete and relabel cases;
        • the FLOOR entry.
    • Non-blocking: the case "a governed object with no granted_by column is never given one", in the granted_by describe, still writes a sys_position_permission_set row. That object is no longer governed, so the binding half now passes without the gate judging it. Trim it or retitle it.

    5. The seat's answers (6161961558) are applied, except the carriers, which have nowhere to go yet.

    6. Q4. The two describes are unchanged and named, and two live readings exist.

    ② Semver level

    • @objectstack/plugin-security: patch.
      • No entry export is added or removed: index.ts and package.json are not in the diff. Every deleted symbol is internal or private.
      • Entry exports change behaviour in two ways, and neither is reachable from a request:
        • DelegatedAdminGate.assert no longer judges sys_position_permission_set or sys_permission_set, and now resolves for both. No composition registers either object, and a binding row grants nothing.
        • PackagedPermissionSetLockedError and assertPermissionSetNotPackageDeclared no longer vary their text by operation.
      • The report's new class is a log line plus a field on an unexported type.
      • Nothing widens a published accept set or adds a key.
      • The changeset says fix( and 6de1dfb5d9 says feat(. The act sets the level (WHICH LEVEL in pr-automation.yml), and the act is patch.
    • @objectstack/spec: patch.
      • What changes: describe texts (one projectionApplied describe, two materializeApplied describes, and EvalUser.positions), JSDoc, and the PositionSchema message for the retired permissions key.
      • One row leaves the exported ERROR_CODE_LEDGER (@objectstack/spec/api, as const): the plugin-security array loses UNIQUE_VIOLATION. The code union does not change.
      • The new examples are true. service-datasource registers the datasource mutation projector, and service-automation registers the flow publish materializer, which promotes the draft's credentials.
      • Patch follows the ledger's own precedent for retiring a row.
    • @objectstack/platform-objects: patch. One description, and its four generated translations.
    • @objectstack/core: patch. Doc comments only. The changeset names positionDefinitionFromRow but not the doc change to permissionSetDefinitionFromRow (b9c20819e1). Cosmetic.
    • No entry export is removed, so no ADR-0087 runtime-export-retired marker and no FROM → TO line is owed.
    • Clause-②: no is right. No (narrowing) arm is needed, because nothing reachable narrows: S8 carried the narrowing.

    ③ Boundary flags

    • NOT MEASURED: no CI has run. There is no PR, and 4366cc8e62 has zero check-runs.
      • Everything the report counts is the dev's local claim, measured at 36bf566c22, which is two commits before the reviewed head: every suite, the typecheck, the anchor sweeps, the censuses, the generated files, the ablation, and the 147 commands dispatch-gates --ran derived.
      • 4366cc8e62 changes code: it restores about 88 lines of security-plugin.ts and 37 lines of its test, and it reverts the showcase comment. No report covers it.
      • So this is unmeasured on the reviewed head, even locally: the plugin-security suite, the typecheck, and check:adr-symbol-anchors. That last one was the report's one red, and the restoration is meant to clear it.
    • NOT MEASURED: the objectui pinned sibling. The touched entry exports keep their signatures.
    • What the merge onto main after 7a must re-check:
    • Not yet carried by any card. Name each in the body, or file a card:
      • The report's three carrier: none items:
        • the item access-security.packaged-permission-set-lifecycle. Its title still says "locked base at the data door", and its automated.ref names the deleted packaged-permission-set-restore-leg.test.ts and S8-T's deleted pin 6, although this diff corrects its source and two of its clauses;
        • the uninstall comments in protocol.ts;
        • the showcase's guest-binding doc.
      • The JSDoc of the projector and materializer in protocol.ts (①4).
      • ADR-0090 D9 (guest) and D12, NOT MEASURED, from 6140398039.
      • The seat review's out-of-scope finding 1: AdminScope.manageBindings and authorEnvironmentSets are honoured by no write path. It is filed at landing.
    • Q4's two readings go to the decision box (①6).

    Adopted by domain:engine seat 2 at 2026-10-14T06:22Z, after a tool-use audit of the isolated reviewer's transcript (opus). The reviewer made reads, git fetch into review refs, REST GETs, and record writes only. It made no GitHub write and ran no build, test or gate. This is a pre-PR review of the build-ahead; the seat takes the verdict as FAIL and sends one patch round, to land before the PR opens:

    8-post, patch round for contract review 6162274013 (FAIL), on PR #23428. The PM's relay of that review reached this session only after PR #23428 had opened, so the round lands on the PR branch as three new commits.

    Claim: PM loop round 1 · 2026-10-14T10:28Z · the closing PR's own claim, as claim 6120370976 provides ("The PR that closes the card gets a fresh Claim: naming its branch")

    File surface: PR #23428's file list, 8-post's surface under dispatch 6120370976 and the re-cut dispatch. ⛔ Not assertAudienceAnchorBindingGate, which #23412 removed on main (be50633be1).

The only conflict was security-plugin.ts, two hunks, resolved by dropping both sides: main's held only assertPackageManagedWriteGate, assertSystemRowWriteGate (with SYSTEM_ROW_PROVENANCE and the PACKAGE_POSITION_* helpers) and assertCuratedCapabilityNameGate; ours held only assertAudienceAnchorBindingGate and its describeAnchorForbiddenBits import. None of those names is left in the file, and its diff against main is this PR's own removals plus one comment. No generated artifact was stale (spec check:generated clean). Then a33c341826 carried: the changeset's 'stays for now' sentence dropped; the showcase permission-sets.ts comment; protocol.ts comments at the UninstallCleanup and MetadataMutationProjector docs, the save-path projection comment and the three delete-reset comments (now in the past tense); security-plugin.ts's uninstall comment; delegated-admin-gate.ts and its holding-organization test header (the present-tense 'unique per organization only'); and the report-class heading. The PR body is patched (relay run 38558283953, 8,797 bytes read back identical): the anchor-gate line, the #23403 carrier (closed by #23412), the protocol.ts claim, the spec-ledger claim, and Verification.
