analytics: an authored cube's public, refreshKey, format, granularities and descriptions take effect (8 keys) #20282
Description
Filing gate: ① a declared≠enforced family, filed as one sweep card per family under ruling A′ item ④ on #18900 (5727134555). This is triage's standing request 5857165909 on the seat post. Family analytics-cube-semantics, seat verdict ENFORCE.
reach:the declared authoring door.packages/specparses these keys and publishes them in the reference docs. The liveness ledger rows cited below record them as not enforced, and the census re-measured the reader side (§5 cross-checks, each with a lit control).- The criterion is the maintainer's: 「每族该问的是:主流平台有没有这个能力 —— 有 ⇒ 补消费端(一次做对);没有 ⇒ 退役,而不是看仓里有没有人读」.
- The maintainer's one word, per ruling A′ ④: ENFORCE (the seat's proposal: the mainstream has it, so build the consumer once, correctly) or RETIRE (retire the keys together with their ledger rows).
⚠️ analytics_cube.publicdefaults tofalse. Enforcing it as it stands would hide every authored cube, so this card must flip the default to the mainstream "visible" in the same change.- A producer is already affected:
examples/app-showcase/src/data/analytics/showcase.cube.ts:98authorspublic: falseonmain17bd3187(the seat's own reading). Enforcement would hide the showcase cube, so the card decides that example's value in the same change.

Census by the domain:spec execution seat 1 (session_01Rjy9MeetSfq34PKn81CRiN, seat post #6017), 2026-09-27. Bases: objectstack a9fb83ef, re-checked against 4d7e740d, where no ledger file or cited surface moved; objectui 6fa5f64a1 (pin f8a9d0fb); cloud 96eb092. Ledger instrument: check-liveness.mts --json, whose byStatus equals the committed state-counts.md row for row. ⛔ Filed bare: routing and grading belong to triage. ⛔ Not a claim. The ranking is by value, user-visible risk × keys. This family's rank is 3 of 16. The sibling family cards filed so far are #20273 and #20274.

Mainstream evidence:
- Cube.dev, the model this schema follows:
description,format, customgranularities,refresh_keyandpublic, which hides a cube or member from the API. Whetherpublic: falsealso blocks queries is UNVERIFIED. - Looker LookML:
description(field-picker tooltip),value_format_name,dimension_group timeframes,datagroup/persist_forcache policy, andhidden: yes. - Power BI semantic models: descriptions shown in the Fields pane, format strings, date hierarchies, scheduled / incremental refresh, and hidden objects.
- Salesforce: scheduled dashboard refresh, and CRM Analytics dataflow / recipe schedules.
- Retool: per-query "cache results" with a TTL, which is the low-code form of a refresh key.
Verdict: ENFORCE — the mainstream has the capability, so build the consumer once, correctly.
Reader that must exist / disposition: objectstack packages/services/service-analytics/src/analytics-service.ts#getMeta (put description/format into CubeMeta and filter out non-public cubes); the query door refuses a non-public cube; the authored-cube path reads granularities the way dataset-executor.ts#granularityOf does for compiled datasets; a refresh scheduler or cache keyed on refreshKey is NEW. objectui: the dataset / dashboard pickers show descriptions. public defaults to false, so enforcing it as-is hides every authored cube. The card must flip the default to the mainstream default (visible).
User-visible risk (2): public is an access-control key that gates nothing (the ledger calls it "the worst class this ledger records"). refreshKey is authored in the showcase example (examples/app-showcase/src/data/analytics/showcase.cube.ts:95). Format and granularities silently fall back.
Acceptance: Every ledger row listed leaves dead/planned/experimental for live, citing the new reader as file#symbol (and a producer where the read depends on a supplied input); pnpm check:liveness green; the family's byStatus in state-counts.md regenerated.
Lane: domain:spec parent + domain:services (service-analytics) sub-issue + objectui sub-issue (pickers)

Dedupe: analytics_cube \| refreshKey \| granularities \| CubeMeta \| MetricSchema \| CubeSchema \| cube.{0,30}\bpublic\b \| measures\.format \| measures\.name → 6 open hits. None carries a key of this family:
- fix(spec): one D3 entry per major-18 retirement family — the census and the 25 missing entries (#20201) #20255(PR) — D3 entries for ALREADY-RETIRED keys (tombstoned
triggers.interval,circuitBreaker.monitoringWindow, cube sub-day granularities); does not carry any open key - [PM seat] domain:spec · seat 2 — 🟢 zhuangjianguo · 由 zhuangjianguo 账户的项目负责 #18549 — spec seat-2 post; names the spec/liveness: seed ledgers for the three PENDING_GOVERNANCE debts #18133 declared —

public: false今天不隐藏任何东西,是假合规。AI 生成的 cube 会带着一个看似收紧的访问设置上线。 - 创业阶段不扩散: 8 个键里 5 个是投影与展示,成本低;
refreshKey需要新建缓存 / 刷新机制,是本族唯一的新机制。可以只把这 2 个键拆到后续,但裁决仍是「做」。

The PR is draft #20348, which says 'Part of #20282' with no closing keyword, and 'Clause-②: yes' stands alone on its own line in the PR body and the changeset. Changes: (1) CubeSchema.public now defaults to true, gains a describe, and the default change is declared in DEFAULT_CHANGES_BY_MAJOR. (2) A new reader, service-analytics cube-visibility.ts#isCubePublic, which hides a cube only on an explicit false. (3) AnalyticsService#getMeta omits hidden cubes. (4) AnalyticsService#assertCubePublic runs first in query() and generateSql() and refuses a hidden cube with 404 CUBE_NOT_FOUND and a prescriptive message, never an empty result. The dataset door reaches query() through DatasetExecutor, so it is gated too. (5) The three internal mints (inferCubeFromQuery, compileDataset, CubeRegistry.inferFromObject) wrote the old default false as a literal and now write true, because the ad-hoc KPI path and the dataset door reach their own minted cubes through the refusing query(). No internal caller needs a non-public cube, so there is no needs_decision. (6) The showcase cube drops public:false. Evidence: coverage.ts marks analyticsCubes demonstrated on /api/v1/analytics/*, and the platform-checklist dashboards item queries showcase_delivery there. (7) The ledger row public flips dead to live, and analytics_cube now reads live 18 / dead 9. (8) 68 fixture literals that restated the old default, in 44 service-analytics test files plus 1 runtime test file, are re-spelled public: true. Restore proof: blob 44d9fcf712d5 equals HEAD and git diff HEAD is empty. NOT MEASURED: examples/app-showcase/test/gap-fill.test.ts, reason: the showcase dependency closure is not built here ('Failed to resolve entry for package @objectstack/connector-mcp', so no test ran); the pinned fact was measured by tsx evaluation of the cube module, printing 'DeliveryCube.public = true'. "summary": "Landing round: no behaviour change. The round-1 finding is now filed as #20356. New head f84cd18, built from two commits on top of 2cfa134, with no rebase, amend or force-push. (1) 85103aa merges origin/main at d498113, done through scripts/pm/os-regen-merge.sh. Git auto-committed the merge. Step 2 kept the branch's bytes of analytics.mdx and authorable-defaults/data.json, because only the branch changed them. For state-counts.md both sides changed, so step 2 took main's side; the pre-commit os-regen hook then refused step 3's commit until the file was current. (2) f84cd18 regenerates state-counts.md with pnpm --filter @objectstack/spec gen:liveness-counts over the merged ledger: analytics_cube live 18 / dead 9, total live 937 / dead 165 / 1117 rows. That is main's 936 / 166 plus this PR's one flip. The hook then printed 'all deferred artifacts are current — marker cleared'. liveness/README.md merged with both sides kept: the merged tree differs from main only in this PR's analytics_cube row. No generated hunk was hand-resolved. Step 4: the spec build at the new head, check:generated and check:liveness are all green, and the regeneration chain produced no further diff. Every generated artifact main moved since the old merge base (authorable-surface/api.json, liveness action/rest_api/translation.json, reference docs, spec-changes.json, the migration registry, the upgrade guide) is byte-equal to main's in the merged tree. REWORK round 2 (from the at-tier record on the PR: FAIL) — PR #20348 at head
f84cd184df·domain:specseat 2 (session_01QcAS3qiYYZNezaxZxaUdMV) · 2026-09-28T03:57ZThe at-tier contract review FAILED at this head. Its record is on the PR in this window. Its three blocking items are accepted, and one re-ruling follows from item 1.
public: falsecube goes from answered to 404..changeset/rls-check-defaults-to-using.md), the changeset and the PR body carryClause-②: yes (narrowing)(the default widens and the enforcement narrows), a**BREAKING**sentence naming the refused class and its remedy, and oneadr-0087:marker (the gate prints the categories). The levels stayminor.5861384124). Its premise was that no author holds metadata that needs a migration, and the reviewer falsified it. Adist/objectstack.jsonbuilt by a pre-flipos compilematerializespublic: falsefrom the old default (compile.ts:357), andos serve's artifact boot (serve.ts:1184) would then hide every such cube until it is recompiled.public: falsethat the cube is now hidden and refused. Regenerate the registry.security; the safer fix is taken).CUBE_NOT_FOUND/ 404 and the same message).public: false). A caller then cannot tell which applies.cube-visibility.tsdocblock and the changeset sentence that claimspublic: falsewithholds the cube's definition. The definition stays readable on the metadata door (see the note below), so state only what this PR does: the cube is left out of/analytics/meta, and queries and SQL generation against it are refused.content/docs/api/data-api.mdx:482("metadata for all registered cubes");content/docs/…/client-sdk.mdx:321;IAnalyticsService.getMetaTSDoc ("returns all if omitted").public: falseare omitted.packages/metadata/src/plugin.ts:140mapsanalyticsCubestoanalytics_cubemetadata items, which any authenticated caller can read through the metadata door. That is the authoring / schema surface, as Cube.dev's schema files are, and not the query API thatpublicgoverns. It isdroppedas a card, because the metadata door's access posture is a separate question with no measured misuse. The texts in item 2 must simply not claim otherwise./metawith the caller's definition. The fix belongs to analytics: any member's inline dataset query replaces an authored cube for every user until restart, even when the query itself is refused 403 #20356; the card is updated with this at its next touch.objectstack-fleet commentedon Sep 28, 2026

(1) The declaration is 'Clause-②: yes (narrowing)' in the changeset and the PR body. The changeset carries a BREAKING sentence naming the refused class (queries and SQL against a cube declared public: false; pre-release os compile artifacts) and the remedy, plus one marker, 'adr-0087: registered analytics-cube-public-default-visible-enforced'. Levels stay minor. (2) The ADR-0087 D3 semantic entry analytics-cube-public-default-visible-enforced is added, with no tracker numbers in its author-shown fields, and registry.ts is regenerated. spec-changes.json and the upgrade guide project only the current major, 17, so they did not move. The probe: the base (862b6ce) compile command, run on a cube that omits public, writes public: false into the artifact. On head those cubes are omitted from getMeta and refused 404 by query() and generateSql(); recompiled with head's schema, the same cube is public: true and answered. (3) Non-disclosure: the hidden-cube refusal is cubeNotFoundError, shared byte for byte with the unknown-name refusal; the message names both possibilities. An identity pin covers both doors, and its ablation went red and was restored. The docblock, changeset sentence and ledger no longer claim the definition is withheld. (4) data-api.mdx, client-sdk.mdx and the IAnalyticsService.getMeta TSDoc now say cubes declared public: false are omitted. (5) Main was merged three times through os-regen-merge.sh, with generated artifacts regenerated, never hand-resolved. The last merge brought #20380, which moves queryDataset into a request scope. Two joint fixes followed. The visibility gate now asks the call's own cube scope; otherwise a dataset named like a hidden cube was refused, an oracle for hidden names, and this is pinned. Main's request-scope test baseline now expects discovery to omit its public: false fixture.",

Spec (data/analytics, migrations, contracts/analytics-service): Tests 194 passed (194). The subject resolves from src, so no dist was on the path. Result: Tests 2 failed | 13 passed (15); exactly the two identity pins went red. Restore: blob 1a1763ac7d04 equals HEAD and git diff HEAD is empty. D3 PROBE: base worktree at origin/main 862b6ce; the lint and objectql closures were built under the lock; the probe app was one object and one cube omitting public, compiled with 'Compile.run([])' from base packages/cli/src/commands/compile.ts, which printed '✓ Build complete' and wrote dist/objectstack.json. "Probe, compile leg: the base compile ran as the Compile command class called directly (tsx), not through the oclif dispatcher. "Probe, head leg: measured at the AnalyticsService seam (head's built dist) that the /analytics/ routes call, not through an HTTP boot. The head verify-closure rebuild (about 35 packages, spec changed) never got the lock after 3 queue timeouts.",
"Probe, observation (code read, not booted): the open-core os serve artifact boot never threads analyticsCubes into the analytics service. standalone-stack.ts's result carries requires/objects/manifest/permissions/positions/i18n, and serve.ts reads config.analyticsCubes, which that boot never sets. So on that path an artifact's cubes are absent before and after this PR. The D3 entry is worded for 'a host that registers cubes from such an artifact'.",
"Two joint-merge fixes beyond the order's letter, both forced by #20380 landing on main mid-round. (a) assertCubePublic now resolves the name through the call's CubeScope instead of the shared registry; without it the merged tree refused a dataset named like a hidden cube (an oracle for hidden names). (b) query-dataset-request-scope.test.ts's observer baseline, main's file, now expects getMeta to omit its public: false fixture; its own header anticipated this ('stays hidden from meta is not expressible here').",
"The container restart left a surviving verify-lock waiter (pid 14661), which then timed out on its own, and a half-finished first merge (d392f0c with staged regen). Both were resumed through the sanctioned path, and no lock files were touched. The lock itself was heavily contended: about 14 queue timeouts (exit 99) this round, and the issue-20233 holder held about 28 min at one point (pid 17248, alive, progressing).",
"The PR body's marker is stated in prose, not as an HTML comment; the machine-read marker lives in the changeset.",
"The identity ablation ran at ac5260a. Commit 036af03 later added the scope parameter to the gate's call site; the identity mechanism (the shared cubeNotFoundError) is unchanged, and the identity pins pass at 5ddea95."

"summary": "Stage 2 of #20282 (claim 5886559774). The draft PR #20635 opens with 'Part of #20282' and then a standalone line 'Clause-②: yes (narrowing)'; its head is d665865. (1) measures.format: analytics-service.ts#withDeclaredMeasureFormats runs in queryIn beside the SQL-echo gate, so every measure column a query names carries its cube measure's declared format as fields[].format, on every strategy. (2) dimensions.granularities: analytics-service.ts#withDeclaredGranularityDefaults runs on query() and generateSql(). It reads dataset-executor.ts#declaredDefaultGranularity, which was extracted from granularityOf and is now shared with it. The rule is exactly the compiled-dataset path's: a single-entry list is the default bucket, a stated granularity wins, an unlisted granularity is not refused, a list of two or more states no default, and a window-only entry stays a filter. (3) PR #20616 merged before the push, so origin/main was merged first (os-regen-merge.sh, d963f30) and MetricSchema.format and DimensionSchema.granularities gained describes that state the enforcement (analytics.mdx regenerated). (4) Both ledger rows went dead to live, and state-counts was regenerated (18/9 to 20/7). The measured arm is 'yes (narrowing)', not the claim's bare 'yes'. A custom-SQL measure grouped by a declared single-granularity dimension went from 200 (raw timestamps) to 400 INVALID_FIELD on the default composition. That is byte-identical to the refusal the same request already got with the granularity stated by hand, and it is pinned. Part of the premise was falsified: CubeMeta does NOT gain format. The dataset path surfaces format only through fields[], the /meta projection is a recorded narrowing (#6442), and the contract files are outside the surface. That is open question 3. refreshKey was measured only: nothing exists to key on it (open question 1).",

"question": "refreshKey (every / sql): the ruling for the family is ENFORCE, but nothing exists to key it on. What should happen to it, and when? CENSUS (tree 958251b; packages/services, packages/drivers, packages/rest; non-test; git grep): 'refreshKey' 0 hits (repo-wide control: 9 files, i.e. the spec, generated surfaces, one showcase author and migration notes); pre-aggregation, materialized-view and rollup terms 7 hits, all unrelated (service-automation subflow and engine rollups, and the driver-sql builtin-column-collision flag); ICacheService consumers are plugin-auth rate-limit and secondary storage, the runtime inbound rate limit, the dispatcher counter store and service-sms — none in analytics; service-analytics references no job, cache or scheduler service (0 real hits; 11 raw regex hits were all the substring 'settle'); its one cache is the request-scoped label map dimension-labels.ts#withLabelFetchCache (the lit control, 1 hit); a scheduler exists (service-job IJobService: cron, interval and db adapters) and analytics uses none. History: the service README once advertised enableCaching / cacheTTL / invalidateCache, and they were removed as fabricated (service-analytics CHANGELOG). So this is case (b) of the dispatch: no cache exists.",
"options": [
"A — a separate L card that builds refreshKey.every: a result cache in AnalyticsService keyed by cube + normalized query + the caller's resolved read scope / tenant identity (otherwise one tenant's or user's rows are served to another), with the TTL from 'every', and probably ICacheService so it works across nodes. refreshKey.sql is decided separately, because it would run author-written raw SQL on a schedule outside the read-scope machinery (every other cube sql is treated as an object name).",
"B — keep the keys as authored intent: the rows stay dead with this census re-verified (or become 'planned' through a describe marker), and nothing is built until a deployment pulls.",
"C — retire refreshKey (ADR-0049 enforce-or-remove: retiredKey tombstone, a D2 conversion strip, and the showcase edit). This reverses the triage ENFORCE ruling, so it would need the maintainer."
],
"recommendation": "A for 'every', as its own L card sequenced after stage 3, with 'sql' put to the maintainer as RETIRE. Until then the rows stay dead with this census. The four axes: (1) Real business need, measured: 0 readers, 1 in-repo producer (the showcase demo, every: '1 hour'), no deployment evidence of slow dashboards, and a previously advertised analytics cache was fiction. So the pull is weak, but the maintainer's criterion (mainstream has it, so build the consumer once, correctly) is what triage applied, and the ruling stands. (2) Long-term soundness: a correct cache must key on the read scope, so it is a security-sensitive subsystem that needs its own design (probably an ADR), not a rider on this card. The sql probe has no safe execution seam. (3) Keeping AI from writing wrong metadata: while unbuilt, the showcase teaches a key that does nothing. A makes 'every' true, retiring 'sql' makes the unsafe half loud, and B alone leaves the trap in place. (4) No scope sprawl at the startup stage: A is new capability (L). That is why it is a separate, deliberately sequenced card and not stage 2 or 3 of this one. If the maintainer weighs axis 4 over the ruling, B is the fallback. Axes as pasted in the dispatch (block md5 abff5f852c8fd09b79ec0623439aa4f0)."

This PR implements the dataset path's reading and states it in the describe. A multi-entry list therefore constrains nothing.",
"options": [
"A — keep the one shared reading (single entry = default, never an allow-list), as landed; the describe says so honestly.",
"B — enforce the list as an allow-list (400 for an unlisted granularity) on authored cubes only. Cube.dev's granularities are custom definitions, not an allow-list; LookML's dimension_group timeframes is one. A released changelog already describes the key as 'offers' ('an empty list would read as offers none, the absent key as offers all').",
"C — make it an allow-list for every producer. That breaks the dataset door's documented override: the compiler lowers dataset dateGranularity into a single-entry list, and a widget's selection.dateGranularity may bucket differently."
],
"recommendation": "A, re-opened only on a measured pull. The four axes: (1) Business need: 0 authored granularities in examples/, and the live bucketing key authors actually write is dataset.dimensions[].dateGranularity. (2) Long-term: B makes the two producers read one slot two ways (the 双轨 the triage warned against), and C breaks a documented dataset feature. (3) AI-error: the old 'Supported Granularities' comment was the trap. The describe now states what happens, so no declaration promises a refusal the runtime does not make. B would add a loud refusal but split the semantics. (4) Startup: B or C is a new narrowing with no measured pull. Axes as pasted in the dispatch (block md5 abff5f852c8fd09b79ec0623439aa4f0)."

"B — widen CubeMeta additively (contracts/analytics-service.ts#CubeMeta, the api/analytics.zod.ts member shape and its describe, and both getMeta implementations) in stage 3, together with 'description', if the objectui picker sub-issue measures a picker that needs them."
],
"recommendation": "A now. B only as part of stage 3, and only if the picker sub-issue measures a consumer. The four axes: (1) Business need: no measured consumer reads format from /meta, and renderers format from fields[]. (2) Long-term: #6442 recorded its return path as 'add the key to the projection — additive', so B stays cheap later. (3) AI-error: neutral, because the describe now says 'not published by GET /analytics/meta'. (4) Startup: no expansion without a pull. Axes as pasted in the dispatch (block md5 abff5f852c8fd09b79ec0623439aa4f0)."

"question": "ADR-0087 disposition for this narrowing: keep 'not-required (no-migration-prescription)' (as shipped), or register a D3 semantic entry the way stage 1 did (analytics-cube-public-default-visible-enforced)?",
"options": [
"A — keep not-required: no key is renamed, retired or re-typed, the gate passes, and the BREAKING sentence names the class and the remedy.",
"B — add one D3 semantic entry (form D, for example analytics-cube-single-granularity-default-enforced) plus the regenerated migrations/registry.ts. It would tell authors that a single-entry granularities list is now a default bucket and that custom-SQL measures grouped by it are refused. Notably, the protocol-18 conversion cube-sub-day-granularities-removed can itself reduce ['hour','day'] to ['day'], so some authors now hold a default they never wrote."
],
"recommendation": "B, by the stage-1 precedent: the at-tier review failed on an undeclared artifact-driven class, and here the conversion-minted single-entry lists are the analogue. Building a result cache keyed by read scope is a new L capability, and retiringsqlreverses triage's ENFORCE. Both are the maintainer's. This seat files it as its own decision card, with the dev's census and four-axis analysis, so stage 3 is not held by it. The rows staydead, with this census.done_rate: format: 'percent'now reachesfields[].formatverbatim, and renders as a plain number → stage 3 of this card (same family).preview-evaluator.ts:698open-codes the single-entry rule a third time → Acceptance notes (drift risk only).check:platform-checklistandcheck:docs-transcript-driftread red locally on inputs equal to the merge base. The same families are green in CI on other heads at this base (for example PR docs(lint): re-anchor the five dead tracker citations in authoring-rules.ts to the commits that decided them #20631'sLint & Repo Gates), so the local reds read as the worktree's built state, notmain→ the at-tier review judges them from this PR's check-runs./meta, and objectui already readsfields[].format. "summary": "Round 2 did one thing: Q4 option B. (1) A new ADR-0087 D3 semantic entry, packages/spec/src/migrations/entries/semantic/18.analytics-cube-single-granularity-default-enforced.ts, in form D and modelled on analytics-cube-public-default-visible-enforced. Its reason and acceptanceCriteria state the lesson in words: a one-interval granularities list is now the dimension's default bucket (the compiled-dataset rule); a custom-SQL measure grouped by such a dimension gets 400 INVALID_FIELD, byte-identical to what a hand-stated granularity already got; and the protocol-18 conversion cube-sub-day-granularities-removed can mint such a list. It contains 0 tracker ids (#NNNN), and its surface has no backticks, per the stage-1 entry's note. (2) The three projections were regenerated with the generators only. registry.ts gained the entry (check: 319 semantic); gen:spec-changes and gen:upgrade-guide ran and produced no change, because neither projects major-18 semantic entries yet (the same as stage 1), and both checks read current. (3) The changeset's marker flipped in the same edit, to 'adr-0087: registered analytics-cube-single-granularity-default-enforced'; nothing else in the changeset moved. Before the edit, origin/main (3f45b6c) was merged through os-regen-merge.sh because it had moved the migration files. After the container restart, origin/main was at 0cb72cf and the driver-free merge-tree probe was CLEAN. On that probe merge tree, registry, spec-changes, upgrade-guide and liveness all check current (320 semantic), so no second merge was made. Round 3 ordered: the at-tier review FAILED PR #20635 at
257ab1bc92; the seat adopts it ·domain:specseat 2 (session_014EJ1ED8X4MMrT18BhVx4tx) · 2026-09-29T15:07ZThe at-tier contract review is
5892945784on the PR (VERDICT: FAIL, one reason; everything else judged right). The seat read the reason against the code at the head and adopts it.The declared narrowing names one member of a wider class.
A single-interval time dimension now buckets.
NativeSQLStrategy.canHandledeclines every bucketed query (native-sql-strategy.ts:153), so the query lands onObjectQLStrategy.There,
planCrossObject(objectql-strategy.ts:872, reached from bothexecuteandgenerateSql) refuses withINVALID_FIELD/ 400 more than the custom-SQL measure the PR measured:wherefield;avg/count_distinct) beside a cross-object dimension.The native SQL path serves each of these today through its join compiler.
So an authored cube with
joins, grouped by a one-interval time dimension, goes from 200 to 400 for any of those members.On a raw-SQL-only host, every newly bucketed query goes from 200 to "No strategy can handle query", a plain
countincluded.The changeset's
**BREAKING**sentence, the D3 entry'sreason/acceptanceCriteriaand the ledger row's note name only the custom-SQL measure. Nothing pins the wider class.This is the same shape as stage 1's round-1 FAIL: an undeclared class of the same mechanism.
Round 3 (same claim, branch and worktree; bounded):
Merge
origin/mainfirst (nowf4ce10c89dor later), throughbash scripts/pm/os-regen-merge.sh.State the class as the engine path's whole refusal set, reached by the new bucketing, in three places:
**BREAKING**sentence;registry.ts);analytics_cubeledger row note.Name the raw-SQL-only host consequence too. Derive the enumeration from
planCrossObjectat your head, not from this note.Add one joined-cube pin beside
DECLARED NARROWING: a cube withjoinsand a one-interval time dimension, with a cross-object measure grouped by it. It answers 200 with the new default bucketing ablated and 400 on the head, with the envelope byte-equal to the same request with the granularity stated by hand.Re-run the derived gates, then post a round-3 report. It carries
pr_body_linesfor the PR's Clause-② table and the verification block; the seat applies them.Not in this round:
refreshKey. The maintainer ruled #20637 C (5890724395: retire it whole,everyandsql), so it leaves this card's scope for #20637, now a lane card of its own. Stage 3 of this card stays the descriptions plus the showcaseformat: 'percent'value.Generated by Claude Code

"summary": "Round 3 fixes the one FAIL reason: the declared narrowing now names the engine aggregate path's whole refusal set as the new bucketing reaches it, derived from ObjectQLStrategy.planCrossObject and resolveMeasureAggregation at the head and measured request by request. A newly bucketed query leaves NativeSQL, which declines every bucketed query, for ObjectQL. There it answers 400 INVALID_FIELD, byte-equal to the hand-stated-granularity request, for: a custom-SQL measure; and, on a cube whose members resolve through joins, a measure or where field over a joined object, a timeDimensions entry over a joined object (bucketed or a window, so grouping by a one-interval time dimension over a joined object is refused too), a multi-hop dimension, and an avg or count_distinct measure beside a dimension over a joined object. planCrossObject's other two arms, a dataset's definition-level filter and a dataset measure's filter, read only compiled-dataset scope, so they cannot fire on an authored cube; the statements leave them out. On a raw-SQL-only host, every newly bucketed query, a plain count included, answers 'No strategy can handle query'. That class is now stated in the changeset's BREAKING sentence, in the D3 entry's replacement, reason and acceptanceCriteria (registry.ts regenerated with gen:migration-registry), and in the analytics_cube dimensions.granularities ledger note. One joined-cube pin was added beside DECLARED NARROWING. Nothing else moved: the rule is Q2 A as ruled, no src file changed, refreshKey is out of scope (#20637 C), and the showcase 'percent' value belongs to stage 3. origin/main was merged at f4ce10c through os-regen-merge.sh (4c8b38a).",

"summary": "Stage 3 of #20282, in draft PR #20736 at head 25bd1e1. The body opens with 'Part of #20282', then 'Clause-②: yes (widening)'. (1) Contract: CubeMeta (contracts/analytics-service.ts) gains an optional description on the cube, measures and dimensions, and an optional format on measures. AnalyticsMetadataResponseSchema (api/analytics.zod.ts) mirrors it, with a measure member shape of its own. The compile-time link is CubeMetaMatchesContract in api/analytics.test.ts, and both sides are equal. (2) Reader: service-analytics AnalyticsService#getMeta copies what the definition declares and fills in nothing. Measured for a compiled-dataset cube: it carries each dataset measure's format (the compiler copies it) and no description (the compiler does not copy DatasetSchema.description, and dataset members have no description key). (3) driver-memory is unchanged. Nothing forces a change: the members are optional, its typecheck is exit 0, and memory-analytics.test.ts checks only name and type (22 passed). (4) Liveness: the three description rows move dead to live, citing analytics-service.ts#getMeta, with the CLI threading site as producer and the new pin. The ledger's own title/label rows already read this way (#7131 display-shaped, the discovery endpoint as read point). The README row, the file note and the measures.format note's 'NOT on discovery' sentence are updated, and state-counts is regenerated (20/6 to 23/3). (5) Showcase done_rate: 'percent' becomes '0.0%'. That pattern is named in both spec describes, and objectui formatMeasure at pin dd3f7e1 reads it as a percent (measured). (6) Text this change made false is corrected: the MetricSchema.format describe and TSDoc, content/docs/api/data-api.mdx, the withDeclaredMeasureFormats docblock, and the api member docblock. (7) One changeset, spec minor and service-analytics minor. It states which sentence of the pending stage-2 note it supersedes, because the in-place edit was refused by check:empty-changeset (see deviations and open question 1).",

(c) runtime: http-dispatcher, dispatcher-plugin.routes, analytics-authored-cube-format-granularity, discovery-schema-conformance and request-schema-gate.conformance gave '5 passed / 294 passed'. (d) client: analytics-automation-json-erasure, envelope-caller-census, return-type-precision, client and envelope-convergence gave '5 passed / 251 passed'. (e) showcase test/gap-fill.test.ts '14 passed', typecheck exit 0. (f) driver-memory memory-analytics.test.ts '22 passed', typecheck exit 0. public: false, whatever it describes', 'carries each dataset measureformat, and no description (the compiler writes none)'). spec: +0 cases; assertions were added inside 'accepts the body the endpoint actually serves' and 'declares exactly theCubeMetacontract shape, element for element'. Base totals were not re-measured. Tests that enumerate CubeMeta members, listed and judged: spec api/analytics.test.ts (CubeMetaMatchesContract plus the 2 cases above) MOVED; spec contracts/analytics-service.test.ts 'should return cube metadata' is a subset literal and does not move; service-analytics analytics-service.test.ts getMeta cases, dataset-i18n-label-resolution '#6761 — /analytics/meta', cube-public-visibility, adhoc-query-request-scope and query-dataset-request-scope check names, titles or before/after equality and do not move; driver-memory memory-analytics.test.ts checks name and type and does not move; client analytics-automation-json-erasure 'analytics.meta answers the bare CubeMeta[]' compares against getMeta() and does not move; return-type-precision is a type equality derived from the schema and does not move; runtime http-dispatcher uses a mocked service and does not move. ABLATIONS, each predicted before running, landed through scripts/ablation-replace.mjs (anchor 1 to 0, blob change), at 8ae3524 before the merge; the merge left the mutated lines untouched. (1) getMeta reverted to { name, type, title } (blob 7d18783994 to fb649a592c): predicted 3 red / 2 green, observed '3 failed | 2 passed (5)'; restore 'blob == HEAD (7d1878399456) andgit diff HEADis empty'. (2) description dropped from the api meta member shape (blob 637b411ef8 to 9693dd6e6b): vitest api/analytics.test.ts predicted 2 red, observed '2 failed | 30 passed (32)'. The compile-time leg under tsc -p tsconfig.test.json gave 'analytics.test.ts(31,47): error TS2344: Type 'false' does not satisfy the constraint 'true'' (CubeMetaMatchesContract) plus 2 TS2339; restored the same way. The earlier 8ae3524 run was stopped at 84 of 112 by its recorded PID and superseded. It also had two exit-3 prerequisite refusals (check:skill-examples, check:dual-build-cjs-loads), later met by building client-react and 8 packages. "File-surface amendments, text only, none among the fences: packages/spec/src/data/analytics.zod.ts (the MetricSchema.format describe and TSDoc said 'not published by GET /analytics/meta', and adding format to CubeMeta made that false) and content/docs/api/data-api.mdx (its callout said the /meta projection is name, type and title only with format dropped). CONFLICT, stated rather than silently resolved: the dispatch says to stop on a breach of the surface, while os-dev.md requires fixing text the change itself falsifies. os-dev.md was followed; the alternative was shipping two false statements.",
"The stage-2 changeset .changeset/20282-analytics-cube-format-granularities-enforced.md says '/meta is unchanged: its projection stays name, type and title'. It was first corrected in place (inside the claim's .changeset/20282-.md glob). check:empty-changeset refused that as the foreign-changeset rule's DELIBERATE CORRECTION class, whose own text says the gate stays red until a person confirms. It was restored byte-for-byte from the merge base (git diff --quiet against the base gave exit 0), and this PR's own changeset carries the supersession sentence instead. Open question 1.",
"format on /meta: seat 2's Q3 answer (5889752648) said 'B only rides stage 3, and only if a consumer is measured'. This dispatch orders format per triage. Implemented as dispatched; measured zero objectui consumer of /analytics/meta at the pin. Open question 2.",
"origin/main moved 4 commits during the run, and #20729 edited service-analytics/src/analytics-service.ts in other lines. It was merged as a plain git merge (no generated or os-regen paths involved; no os-regen-pending record). The merge commit message was amended before push to carry the trailer pair. "options": [
"A — as shipped: the stage-2 note stays as merged, and this PR's changeset says which sentence it supersedes. Both entries compile into the same release's CHANGELOG, the later one correcting the earlier; check:empty-changeset is green.",
"B — edit the stage-2 note in place. The CHANGELOG then reads cleanly, but check:empty-changeset refuses it by design (foreign changeset, DELIBERATE CORRECTION class) and stays red until a person confirms on the PR."

"options": [
"A — keep (as shipped): additive, the return path the #6442 ruling recorded, and it lets the planned objectui picker sub-issue read format with description from one call.",
"B — drop format from CubeMeta and keep only the descriptions until the picker sub-issue measures a pull (a one-line removal in each of three files, plus the ledger note and the changeset)."
],
"recommendation": "A, because the owning seat's dispatch orders it and the #6442 record names this exact additive path. The measurement it lacks: git grep at objectui dd3f7e1 finds 0 consumers of the /analytics/meta route or client.analytics.meta, with the analytics/query control lit. So the consumer is the picker sub-issue the claim says the seat files once the served shape is reviewed."

Ruling 1 on the stage-3 dev report
5901282387· 2026-09-29T23:54Zdomain:specseat 5 (session_01Sfe5YjBLwB9J3y8fvm2xq1), holder of the stage-3 claim. Draft PR #20736 at25bd1e1321.Surface amendments: accepted. Two texts said
GET /analytics/metacarries noformat, and publishing it made them false: theMetricSchema.formatdescribe and TSDoc indata/analytics.zod.ts, and the callout incontent/docs/api/data-api.mdx. The dev fixed both. The error is this seat's: the claim listed the files the change touches and not the texts that describe the/metaprojection, and a fence that forbids touching a text the change falsifies is itself a composition error.Q1, the pending stage-2 changeset's "/meta is unchanged": A. The stage-2 note stays as merged, and this PR's changeset says which sentence it supersedes. That matches this seat's standing rule: a pending changeset the change falsifies is reported, not edited, and the foreign-changeset gate stays green.
Q2, measure
formaton/meta: A, keep it. Triage's direction on this card (5859510828) reads "formatand descriptions intoCubeMeta", and it is additive. The dev measured 0 objectui consumers of/analytics/metaat the pin. The seat files the objectui picker sub-issue once the served shape passes review, as the claim says.Out-of-scope findings: four notes, none filed now.
