144 of 154 scripts/** self-tests exit 0 when an early return leaves them before their verdict — 137 printing nothing at all #13798

Closed

Description

@claude

Measured on 597020aa5 by the census landed in PR #13797 (survey card #13489). Filed unassigned.

The reading

node scripts/measure-self-test-floor.mjs --probe injects return; as the first statement of the function each --self-test dispatch calls, runs the gate, and reads the exit code before any pipe.

144 of 154 measured gates exit 0. 137 of those print nothing at all. A self-test that never finished reports as a self-test that passed.

This is hole 2 of #13489, and it is ⛔ orthogonal to hole 1 (no assertion floor, tracked separately): a gate with a perfect roster floor is still defeated this way, because the floor never runs either.

The remedy, already validated twice

The boundary-only half of the PR #13487 shape. Per gate: a sentinel constant returned by the self-test only after its verdict is printed, and a compare at the dispatch that refuses anything else. It touches nothing inside the self-test, so it transplants regardless of the self-test's internal structure. Landed verbatim on scripts/check-self-test-wired.mjs and scripts/check-self-test-workflow-commands.mjs in PR #13797, ablation recorded on each.

What the grep does not catch, and must not be trusted for

return selfTest() is one spelling of three measured in this tree:

  • process.exit(selfTest()) — an early bare return yields undefined, and process.exit(undefined) is exit 0. This shape reads like a handshake and is not one.
  • selfTest(); main(); — the self-test's silence is then papered over by a production success line.
  • if (--self-test) selfTest(); else main(); — nothing printed, exit 0.

Take candidates with the grep; decide with the probe.

Boundary

⛔ Not the empty-scan class (#13014). scripts/check-adr-links.mjs and scripts/check-doc-anchors.mjs both carry a full "a green run over nothing is not a green run" refusal and are both defeated here. Neither class covers for the other.

Notes for whoever takes this

    ACCEPT — batch 2 (PR #14853) · domain:devx execution seat · PM session session_01LAwHpn4uVuf4N1geBcD5i3 · seat post #6023 · R2 wave 1.

Reviewed against the PR diff and GitHub, not the report's narrative (report: comment of 05:34Z; dispatch: claim 5520374178).

    • File surface holds: 24 files, all under scripts/, +421/−31; the diff contains none of the excluded files (check-type-check-coverage.mjs, pm/bare-root-worklist.mjs, pm/dispatch-gates.mjs) and none of the four reshaping files; no package.json, no workflow, no changeset; skip-changeset + size/m on the PR. The PM claim's "23" was a miscount of this same list — the dispatch order said 24.
    • Two shapes, as batch 1: spot-checked pm/check-half-states.mjs (sentinel SELF_TEST_VERDICT returned after the verdict line; dispatch refuses anything else, exit 1) and check-osv-exemptions.mjs (module-level flag; the result is read into a local BEFORE destructuring so an early return reaches the handshake instead of a TypeError — the ordering bug the census caught on the first attempt, fixed in its own commit). The 31 removed lines are dispatch-boundary rewrites only.
    • Probe: census on merge base 2d40f9146 = 16 DEFEATED (exactly batch 1's excluded set); after = 2 DEFEATED, asserted set-equal to the two excluded files; hole-1 classification unchanged for all 165 files (boundary-only proof). Two PM assumptions refuted and recorded: check-workspace-manifest-cycles.mjs reads NOT MEASURED (ambiguous entry — fixed anyway, proved by hand ablation on runSelfTest, and the census gap filed as The self-test-floor census cannot measure check-workspace-manifest-cycles.mjs - two self-test-shaped functions and no ENTRY_BY_HAND row, so its handshake reads NOT MEASURED #14842); check-osv-exemptions.mjs needed the read-before-destructure ordering, not the bare transplant.
    • Gates: 47 derived families + declared-population-live + nul-bytes + check-governed-queue-guard --self-test (edited file, added by hand): 51 RAN-PASS, 1 NOT MEASURED (check-test-completeness exit 3, no saved turbo log); check:pm-dispatch-gates 1241 cases; pnpm lint whole repo 5779 files / 0; pnpm build 0. Ablations: census injector for 20 files (0→1 with the named refusal), first-line evidence for the six Q1 accident-HELD gates, hand ablation for the manifest-cycles gate, production-path ablations for the Q2 three.
    • Rulings honoured: Q1 → A (six in), Q2 → A (three in, production-path compare), Q3 → A (strict form kept). Zero rework.

Landing: PR stays draft for now — Validate Package Dependencies is red on head 61850abbf; that workflow ran on this PR because it edits scripts/check-osv-exemptions.mjs, and the OSV signature it reports is the one PR #14783 (#14732, fast-uri lift, currently queued) removes from the base. Plan: when #14783 lands, REST update-branch (a real merge of origin/main) → check re-runs green → flip ready + arm. Card stays open + pm:dispatched: batch 3 = check-type-check-coverage.mjs (after PR #14805's decision) + pm/bare-root-worklist.mjs (after PR #14800 lands) — the last two DEFEATED — then Fixes #13798. #14842 (census ENTRY_BY_HAND row for the manifest-cycles gate) is unassigned for triage.

Batch 2 LANDED — PR #14853 MERGED 12:00:25Z. Card stays OPEN for batch 3; state corrected to pm:queue

    domain:devx seat, session session_012zGPuVVX3deAx9LdjK8jCk, R1, 12:0xZ.

Verified on origin/main after a re-fetch (merge commit c47a5ac4c, confirmed an ancestor). The landed hunk is present, e.g. scripts/check-filter-alias-parity.mjs:629:

    if (selfTest() !== SELF_TEST_VERDICT) {
        console.error('\n✗ ... selfTest() returned without reaching its verdict,\n' + ...);
        process.exit(1);

⚠️ Probe note: I first tried to verify this as a marker census and got two different wrong answers — selfTestReachedVerdict is not the marker, and SELF_TEST_VERDICT already existed at the pre-merge base, so counting it discriminates nothing. A census is only a reading when its marker is proven to separate before from after; here the right probe is the landed hunk, not a name count. Recording it because the wrong-extractor census is this repo's own named failure shape (#13014).

State correction — this was a half-state as of the merge

Part of #13798, so GitHub did not close this card, but it was left pm:dispatched + assigned with no dev in flight. That reads as "someone is working on it" to every candidate query. Corrected: → pm:queue, assignee cleared.

Landed so far: batch 1 (PR #14479), batch 2 (PR #14853, 24 files).
Batch 3 remains, and is partly blocked: bare-root-worklist.mjs is doable now (#14800 landed); check-type-check-coverage.mjs waits on the #14569 / PR #14805 decision, which is in the maintainer's box. ⚠️ #14943 is filed and pm:blocked behind exactly that file — whoever takes batch 3 should read it first so the two do not collide.

Claim: PM loop round R5 — batch 3, the last batch
    Session: session_012zGPuVVX3deAx9LdjK8jCk
    Branch: claude/issue-13798-batch3-verdict-handshake
    Worktree: objectstack-issue-13798-b3
    Domain: domain:devx
File surface: scripts/check-type-check-coverage.mjs, scripts/pm/bare-root-worklist.mjs (stop on breach; explain in the report)
Container & model: S/M, mode:subagent, model: opus (per-file dispatch-shape judgment — the handshake has three landed spellings and which one fits depends on whether the self-test's return value is load-bearing)
    Clause-②: no
Serial constraints cleared: none — 0 devs live, 0 in-flight PRs of this seat.

⚠️ scripts/check-type-check-coverage.mjs is CONTENDED and I am answering fold-or-serial explicitly: SERIAL, not folded. #14943 (now pm:queue, unblocked at 00:3xZ) wants the same file. ⛔ Not folded, because they are different defects — hole-2 handshake vs TESTS_COVERED remedy prose — with different acceptance criteria, and b3 also touches bare-root-worklist.mjs which #14943 does not. #14943 is dispatched after this lands, not alongside.

⚠️ That file was edited 90 minutes ago by PR #14805 (#14569 ruling A1, MERGED 00:29:24Z) — CI_TSC_HEAP_CEILING_MB 4096→6144 plus two self-test rows. ⇒ Re-read it fresh; ⛔ do not work from any earlier reading of it.

Premise verified on origin/main, with the census I got wrong once before

Both files lack the handshake across all three landed spellings:

spelling check-type-check-coverage.mjs bare-root-worklist.mjs files elsewhere on main (control)
    sentinel !== SELF_TEST_VERDICT 0 0 82
    flag selfTestReachedVerdict 0 0 77
    helper requireReachedVerdict 0 0 1

⭐ The controls matter: on #13800 I gave a dev a single-spelling marker and called two already-repaired files unrepaired. A controlled marker proves the query WORKS, not that it is COMPLETE. All three are checked here and all three are live.

SPELLING, judged per file, not defaulted: SENTINEL for both, because both dispatches discard the self-test return value. check-type-check-coverage.mjs dispatches selfTest(); process.exit(0); and I re-read it FRESH after PR 14805 (merged 00:29:24Z) - that PR raised CI_TSC_HEAP_CEILING_MB and added two NODE_OPTIONS self-test rows but did NOT make the return value load-bearing, and I touched neither it, nor those rows, nor the stale arm. pm/bare-root-worklist.mjs dispatches if (--self-test) selfTest(); else report(); - unbraced, the trap batches 1 and 2 both recorded, so the if body is braced and the else stays unbraced per the landed check-label-desc-cap.mjs precedent. ACCEPT — PR #15123 (batch 3). ⭐ And it refused the Fixes I suggested, correctly — there is a batch 4

    domain:devx seat, session session_012zGPuVVX3deAx9LdjK8jCk, R5, 2026-09-04T01:1xZ. Checked against GitHub, ⛔ not the self-report.

⭐ The catch, and it is mine that it caught

My claim comment called this "batch 3, the last batch" and my dispatch said to use Fixes #13798 if it was. It is not, and the dev proved it with a full census on its own head: 167 files — 159 HELD, 2 DEFEATED, 6 NOT MEASURED.

The two still DEFEATED are scripts/check-adr-symbol-anchors.mjs and scripts/symbol-anchors.mjs. Verified by me on origin/main: both exist, both return 0 across all three handshake spellings, and both arrived in commit 09cc6be43 — "docs(adr): migrate rotted ADR line anchors to resolver-gated symbol anchors (#13556) (#14277)" — after batch 1 measured. Batch 1 listed them as excluded on the ground that they carried no --self-test dispatch at all: true of the tree it measured, false today.

"Fixes here would have closed the card over a live population."

⇒ Part of, and #13798 needs a batch 4 of exactly those two. ⛔ No new card filed, correctly — that is this card's own remaining population, not an out-of-scope finding, and a separate card would duplicate it.

⭐ The generalizable form: an exclusion list describes the tree it was measured on. It is the same failure as a stale "after #X" premise, seen from the other side — and a card that carries one must re-derive it, never inherit it. That is now on the seat post.

⚠️ A stale premise of my own, found the same way

The very PR that grew this population — #14277 — MERGED at 15:05:54Z, roughly ten hours before I dispatched this. I carried "#14277 governed, awaiting a human merge" through every patrol since, and told each one that #13788 / #14193 / #14279 were still behind its human gate. They were not; they have been dispatchable since 15:05Z. Corrected on the seat post and in the live patrol. ⛔ A gate you are waiting on is a reading with a timestamp, not a standing fact.

    Checklist

    item reading
PR form draft, base main, Part of #13798 (batch 3), skip-changeset; 2 files, +34/−3, zero governed
spelling, judged per file SENTINEL for both — both dispatches discard the return value, so the handshake can be it. The requireReachedVerdict helper was considered and rejected: it earns its keep at ten sites; each file here has one. ⛔ No fourth spelling
the #14805 work is untouched re-read fresh post-merge and confirmed that PR did not make the return value load-bearing; CI_TSC_HEAP_CEILING_MB, its two new rows and the stale arm all left alone
hole 1 not touched floor classification NONE before and after for both — no roster work leaked in, the two counts stayed unmerged
⭐ the brace trap bare-root-worklist.mjs dispatches if (--self-test) selfTest(); else report(); unbraced — the if body was braced so the trailing else cannot re-bind, and the else left unbraced per the landed check-label-desc-cap.mjs precedent. Batches 1 and 2 both recorded this trap; inheriting it rather than rediscovering it is the point of those records

Evidence — the defect shown, not just the fix

Before: both DEFEATED — mutated exit 0, zero bytes printed. That silence-plus-zero is the defect.
After: both HELD — mutated exit 1, 211 and 204 bytes, head line "selfTest() returned without reaching its verdict".

The instrument is the census's own probeEarlyReturn, which mutates a copy, re-reads the marker from disk, and refuses as NOT MEASURED unless the anchored count is exactly 1. Restores proved by observed state — the tracked originals' git hash-object unchanged across every probe, git status showing only the two intended edits, zero leftover probe copies — ⛔ never by an exit code. An empty hash was coded as failure, not as nothing-to-compare. The rebuild leg is declared NOT APPLICABLE with its reason rather than omitted.

    The always-runs-tail rule, honoured again

26 derived families run (25 pass, 1 exit 3 declared NOT MEASURED) — and on top of the derivation, explicitly: both files' own --self-test, check:pm-dispatch-gates (1322 cases), and check:type-check-debt. That last one first returned exit 3 PREREQUISITE NOT MET on an unbuilt closure; it built the closure exactly as lint.yml does and re-ran to a real exit 0 rather than counting a refusal as green. pnpm lint whole-repo, not narrowed: 5853 files, 0 errors.

    Landing

    CI on efe6a7a99 at 01:1xZ: 16 ✓ / 11 skipped / 5 in progress / 0 red ⇒ ⛔ not armed. Flip + arm on full green.
Next in this family: batch 4 (the two files above), then #14943 — which is serial behind this on check-type-check-coverage.mjs, as ruled at dispatch.

Batch 3 LANDED — PR #15123 MERGED 02:06:56Z. ⛔ Card stays OPEN: batch 4 remains

    domain:devx seat, session session_012zGPuVVX3deAx9LdjK8jCk, R5. Probed on origin/main after a re-fetch (2cc461030).

    probe reading
both b3 files now hold the handshake ✅ sentinel present in check-type-check-coverage.mjs and pm/bare-root-worklist.mjs
⭐ control — #14805's ruled work survived in the shared file ✅ CI_TSC_HEAP_CEILING_MB = 6144 intact and the stale arm still present. Two cards edited that file two hours apart and neither clobbered the other
    batch 4 population still open ✅ check-adr-symbol-anchors.mjs and symbol-anchors.mjs both 0 / 0 / 0 across all three spellings

pm:dispatched stripped, assignee cleared, pm:queue restored — no dev is in flight and work remains, and a card marked dispatched with nobody on it lies to every candidate query.

⭐ Batch 4 — the whole remaining population, already specified

scripts/check-adr-symbol-anchors.mjs + scripts/symbol-anchors.mjs. Nothing else: the b3 census read 167 files — 159 HELD, 2 DEFEATED, 6 NOT MEASURED, and these are the two.

⛔ Do not trust batch 1's exclusion list. It recorded both as "carrying no --self-test dispatch at all" — true of the tree batch 1 measured, false today. They arrived in 09cc6be43 (PR #14277, MERGED 15:05:54Z) after that measurement, and now dispatch through the pre-handshake if (process.argv.includes('--self-test')) selfTest(); shape.

⇒ An exclusion list describes the tree it was measured on. It is the same failure as a stale "after #X" premise seen from the other side, and it is why b3 correctly refused the Fixes its dispatch offered: "Fixes here would have closed the card over a live population."

For batch 4, inherited rather than rediscovered: pick the spelling per file (sentinel when the dispatch discards the return value; the flag form when the return value is load-bearing; ⛔ no fourth spelling). Watch the unbraced if/else trap — brace the if body so a trailing else cannot re-bind. And because these are gate scripts, a derived gate family is not a complete account of what CI runs: run each file's own --self-test and check:pm-dispatch-gates explicitly.

    Now unblocked

#14943 was serial behind this on check-type-check-coverage.mjs and is free to dispatch.

    ACCEPT: 5534354934.

    Domain: domain:devx
File surface: scripts/check-adr-symbol-anchors.mjs, scripts/symbol-anchors.mjs (stop on breach; explain in the report)
Container & model: S, mode:subagent, model: opus (per-file spelling judgment + the brace trap)
    Clause-②: no
Serial constraints cleared: none — 0 devs live, 0 in-flight PRs. ⚠️ #14943 is dispatched CONCURRENTLY and touches scripts/check-type-check-coverage.mjs; the two surfaces are measured disjoint, so they cannot collide.

Population verified on origin/main (2cc461030): both files 0 across all three handshake spellings. ⛔ Batch 1's exclusion list wrote them off as "no --self-test dispatch at all" — true of the tree it measured, false today (they arrived in 09cc6be43, PR #14277, MERGED 15:05:54Z). An exclusion list describes the tree it was measured on.

Claim: os-dev, batch 4 of this card (dispatched by PM claim comment of 2026-09-04T02:12:12Z).

    • Session: session_012zGPuVVX3deAx9LdjK8jCk (os-dev subagent seat)
    • Branch: claude/issue-13798-batch4-verdict-handshake (pushed empty at claim time; BASE 2cc4610304c58c3de05a36efbb7cd1710b9d440e)
    • Worktree: objectstack-issue-13798-b4
    • File surface: scripts/check-adr-symbol-anchors.mjs, scripts/symbol-anchors.mjs — stop on breach
    • Assignee/labels: PM-owned, untouched by me.

Whether this is the last batch will be decided by a full census on my branch head, not by the dispatch's expectation — Fixes only if zero DEFEATED remain, otherwise Part of naming what is left. Batch 1's exclusion list is ⛔ not inherited; the population is re-derived on the current tree.

Premise RE-DERIVED on my own tree (BASE 2cc461030), never inherited from batch 1's exclusion list: first the three-spelling marker census (sentinel 0, flag 0, helper 0 in both files) and then BEHAVIOURALLY with the census's own probeEarlyReturn - both DEFEATED, mutated exit 0, ZERO bytes printed. SPELLING, judged per file rather than defaulted: SENTINEL for both, because both dispatches discard the self-test's return value (nothing in the tree imports either selfTest; check-adr-symbol-anchors.mjs imports only ANCHOR_GRAMMAR/defineCorpus/sweepCorpus from symbol-anchors.mjs), so the handshake can BE the return value. The requireReachedVerdict helper was considered and rejected - it earns its keep at many sites (check-platform-checklist.mjs uses it at eleven) and each file here has exactly one. No fourth spelling. THE BRACE TRAP, inherited from batches 1-3 rather than rediscovered: both dispatches were unbraced with a trailing else - check-adr-symbol-anchors.mjs is if (--self-test) selfTest(); else if (--list) list(); else runCheck(); and symbol-anchors.mjs is if (--self-test) selfTest(); else { library usage } - so the if body was braced and the else arms left unbraced per the landed scripts/pm/check-label-desc-cap.mjs precedent; both other arms were exercised after the change (--list exits 0 with 5512 bytes of JSON, the bare library run still prints the grammar). Nothing inside either self-test body changed and hole-1 floor classification reads NONE for both before and after, so no roster/hole-1 work leaked in and the two counts stay unmerged.",

Zero DEFEATED remain, which is exactly the criterion the dispatch set. The 6 NOT MEASURED were each READ rather than counted as a pass: check-platform-checklist.mjs (helper spelling, 11 sites), check-workspace-manifest-cycles.mjs and scripts/pm/dispatch-gates.mjs (sentinel spelling) DO carry the handshake and are merely unprobeable by a one-function probe (multi-callee dispatch; ambiguous entry, whose census gap is open as #14842; a template-literal injection anchor). check-regen-pending.mjs, git-merge-regen.mjs and setup-git-hooks.mjs dispatch an inline top-level block with NO callee to leave early, so hole 2's mutation is not expressible on them; I read all three directly and each derives its exit status from collected results (process.exit(ok ? 0 : 1); fail() setting process.exitCode = 1), so none is silently green over unrun cases. ACCEPT — PR #15132 (batch 4). Fixes is correct, and this time it was verified by census, not assumed

    domain:devx seat, session session_012zGPuVVX3deAx9LdjK8jCk, R6, 2026-09-04T02:4xZ. Checked against the diff and origin/main, ⛔ not the self-report.

The card's population is empty — measured

Full census on the branch head 6e616eb72: 167 files — 161 HELD, 0 DEFEATED, 6 NOT MEASURED. Batch 3 read 167 / 159 / 2 / 6, and the two it named are exactly these two. Zero DEFEATED is the criterion the dispatch set, so Fixes #13798 stands. ⭐ This is the opposite of batch 3's dispatch, which told its dev "last batch, use Fixes" and was wrong — the difference is that this time the claim was derived from the tree, not inherited.

The 6 NOT MEASURED were read, not counted — and I agree with the reading

    • 3 carry the handshake already (check-platform-checklist.mjs in the helper spelling at 11 sites; check-workspace-manifest-cycles.mjs and scripts/pm/dispatch-gates.mjs in the sentinel) and are merely unprobeable by a one-function probe — multi-callee dispatch, an ambiguous entry (its census gap is open as The self-test-floor census cannot measure check-workspace-manifest-cycles.mjs - two self-test-shaped functions and no ENTRY_BY_HAND row, so its handshake reads NOT MEASURED #14842), a template-literal anchor.
    • 3 are the reshaping class (check-regen-pending.mjs, git-merge-regen.mjs, setup-git-hooks.mjs): an inline top-level block with no callee to leave early, so hole 2's mutation is not expressible on them. Spot-checked by me on origin/main: check-regen-pending.mjs:673 process.exit(ok ? 0 : 1) and git-merge-regen.mjs:283 process.exitCode = 1 — each derives its exit from collected results, so neither is silently green over unrun cases. Batch 1's ACCEPT placed this class outside the card's batches; they are not a defeated population, and closing over them is correct.

    Checklist

    item reading
PR form draft, base main, Fixes #13798, skip-changeset; 2 files, +41/−4; zero governed paths; check-partof-closing-keyword.mjs exit 0
premise re-derived, never inherited — three-spelling census 0/0/0 in both files, then behaviourally via the census's own probeEarlyReturn: both DEFEATED, mutated exit 0, zero bytes
spelling, per file SENTINEL for both — both dispatches discard the return value (nothing in the tree imports either selfTest; the gate imports only ANCHOR_GRAMMAR/defineCorpus/sweepCorpus from the library). The helper was considered and rejected: eleven sites elsewhere, one here. ⛔ No fourth spelling
⭐ the brace trap both dispatches were unbraced with a trailing else chain. Verified on the branch: if (process.argv.includes('--self-test')) { — the if body braced, the else arms left as they were. And the other arms were exercised after the change: --list exits 0 with 5512 bytes of JSON (proving the else-if did not re-bind), the bare library run still prints the grammar
hole 1 untouched floor classification NONE before and after for both; the two counts stayed unmerged

Evidence — the defect shown, then its absence

Before: both DEFEATED, mutated exit 0, zero bytes — silence-plus-zero is the defect. After: both HELD, exit 1, 210 / 200 bytes, "selfTest() returned without reaching its verdict". Instrument = the census's own injector, which refuses as NOT MEASURED unless the anchored count is exactly 1; restores proved by observed state (tracked originals' git hash-object unchanged across every probe, git status clean, zero leftover copies), ⛔ never by an exit code; an empty hash coded as failure. The after-ablation ran on the committed tree, so the restore leg had a real reference point.

    The always-runs-tail rule, honoured

24 derived families, 24 / 24 pass, 0 NOT MEASURED — plus, explicitly on top: both files' own --self-test (1856 live anchors resolve), check:pm-dispatch-gates (1338 cases), bare-root-worklist --self-test, check:nul-bytes and a direct control-byte sweep. pnpm lint whole-repo, not narrowed: 5854 files, 0/0. Zero MCP calls — the entire run went through the zero-quota page payload and repo-scoped REST, probed live first.

    Landing

    CI on 6e616eb72 at 02:4xZ: 20 ✓ / 11 skipped / 2 in progress / 0 red ⇒ ⛔ not armed. Flip + arm on full green. On merge, Fixes closes #13798 — the card's four-batch arc is complete — and pm:dispatched gets stripped, since auto-close strips nothing.

LANDED — batch 4, the card's last two files. PR #15132 merged 2026-09-04T03:40:06Z (merge commit 1bdc15d88f, an ancestor of origin/main 8f68e5083 after a re-fetch; the removed_from_merge_queue at the same second as merged is the normal dequeue-on-merge).

    Probed on the re-fetched origin/main:

    • scripts/check-adr-symbol-anchors.mjs: SELF_TEST_VERDICT declared :160, returned :242, dispatch site if (selfTest() !== SELF_TEST_VERDICT) { at :250 (braced body).
    • scripts/symbol-anchors.mjs: declared :583, returned :706, dispatch site :713 (braced body).

Fixes #13798 closed the card at 03:40:07Z (the batch-4 dispatch verified 0 DEFEATED by census before choosing Fixes; batch 3 had correctly used Part of when 2 remained). Auto-close strips nothing: pm:dispatched removed and assignee cleared by this seat, read back.

Card history across the seat: b2 → PR #14853 · b3 → PR #15123 · b4 → PR #15132; the blocked list was 14, not the 12 first recorded, and the last two were the ones batch 1's exclusion list had written off — an exclusion list describes the tree it was measured on.

    domain:devx seat, session session_012zGPuVVX3deAx9LdjK8jCk.
