Currently the entire system needs to be setup manually (you can't even clone it from git). A script should be written setting-up the hotplug.d/button hook etc.
Maybe even a build.sh script that creates one tarball that is easily to send to the router.

This issue is a preparation for creating an opkg pacakge.

Could you describe the steps required to manually install the entire system from scratch? If we have that creating a script and turning it into an opkg package should be trivial.

If I remember correclty, get the files in files/ extracted to /root/p4c/ (this path is hardcoded in some scripts). Then link the button script to /etc/hotplug.d/button/button and modify /etc/hotplug2.rules — remove '^' before 'button' (see here).
Also luasocket is required.
