@kiwi0fruit I followed the idea through from vuepress. This is what I understood

1. You want .ipynb as the default file ( Single file document? )
   Sounds interesting

2. Add customization ( custom CSS and JS ) to the default nbviewer

export to .ipynb with required javascript plugins and css themes specified in json

How do you propose to do this ^ ?

3. Add some security features.

so the one who reads the notebook doesn't worry about malicious javascript

Can you elaborate ^ ?

All I could think about is making a plugin for vuepress which does this kind of thing. What do you have in mind?

@rishacha It's not a hard deal to export to ipynb format. At the moment pandoctools project of mine can do it. All the enchancements should actually be done at nbviewer side (or it's alternative).

Both source document (.md for example) and output document (.ipynb) would have special yaml/json fields that describe needed css themes and plugins. These plugins are the only allowed javascript in the output html page, other javascript that was in the ipynb would be sanitized. So this brings defence against malicious javascript.

I'm note sure if plugin for vuepress can be used for such a thing - but it may be - needs checking. The point that needs checking is the speed because the proposed design makes ipynb to html page convertion online on demand. So this conversion should be relatively fast to be run on a public server.

2. By the way, is using single .ipynb file a convenient approach? How can multipaged layout be implemented in this approach? The simplest way is to store multible ipynb in the same GitHub repo (or ~like) so that the navigation of the nbviewer handles them properly.
