Here is a simple suggestion: get the GitHub Dependabot to upgrade automatically your included math-expression-evaluator script.
I'm not familiar enough with how that works in practice (I've just used it with Go, which is trivial), but I guess you can read a bit more on the subject and change your repo accordingly.
At the time of writing, math-expression-evaluator has been bumped to 1.3.8 (actually, it was Dependabot who provided a PR!) but your extension is still using 1.3.5. It's a bummer to keep everything in sync with external packages, so... Dependabot! 🤖
