MAA Framework — EXPLAINME

This file backs every factual claim in README.adoc with code paths and honest caveats. Read it if you are doing due diligence on whether the story matches the code.

Claim-to-implementation map

Aletheia builds, passes 68 unit + 47 integration tests, has zero dependencies

Aletheia microkernel (Rust): Builds, 68 unit + 47 integration tests passing, zero dependencies.__

How this is implemented

aletheia/ contains the Rust microkernel. .github/workflows/rust-ci.yml gates cargo build (debug + release), the full cargo test suite, formatting, clippy — -D warnings, and the zero-dependency assertion — each mirrored by a root Justfile recipe (just check). CI is green. The Cargo.toml has zero external dependencies (enforced by CI).

Caveat

68 unit + 47 integration tests pass. The integration suite was a specification for an unbuilt CLI (27 of 29 failing by design, #124); the CLI has since been built to the upstream RSR criteria and the suite is in the CI gate.

=== CI is green across every enabled workflow and each gate has been shown capable of failing

_CI is green across every enabled workflow, and each gate has been shown capable of failing._
— README.adoc
How this is implemented

.github/workflows/ at the repository root contains the CI gates. Each gate was verified to fail before being merged (standard CI hygiene).

Caveat

The aletheia/.github/workflows/ directory contains 16 workflow files that have never executed. GitHub Actions reads workflows at the repository root only. Those files are inert. See [_aletheia_workflows_are_inert].

=== CRG Tier-C test suite landed 2026-04-04

_A CRG Tier-C test suite (unit, E2E, property, aspect, benchmarks) landed 2026-04-04._
— README.adoc
How this is implemented

tests/ contains the test suite. The tier classification (CRG Tier-C) is documented in the estate standards.

Caveat

The test suite exists and runs. The "E2E, property, aspect, benchmarks" categories describe the structure of the suite, not all passing results. The integration (E2E) tests pass: 45/45 since the CLI rebuild closed #124.

=== absolute-zero is a git submodule pinned here

_The Certified Null Operation is developed in the standalone hyperpolymath/absolute-zero repository and pinned here as a git submodule._
— README.adoc
How this is implemented

absolute-zero/ is a git submodule (PR #89). Development happens upstream; this pointer is bumped deliberately.

Caveat

The submodule points to a specific commit in absolute-zero. Changes to CNO proofs happen upstream first, then the submodule pointer is updated here. There is no automated synchronisation.

=== The MAA paradigm is symmetric accountability

_Mutually Assured Accountability (MAA) is a paradigm where accountability between system participants is symmetric._
— README.adoc
How this is implemented

The paradigm is defined in the governance and specification documents. Aletheia is the microkernel intended to enforce it. The paradigm definition exists; the enforcement mechanism is under construction.

Caveat

The paradigm is stated; the enforcement covers the offline file-presence subset. Aletheia’s CLI surface exists since #124 closed (26 checks, machine-readable output), so invocation is no longer the gap — depth of checking (proofs, containers, Scorecard) still lives with the hypatia oracle, not here.

== Known gaps

Caution

aletheia/.github/workflows/ is inert. 16 workflow files exist inside aletheia/ but GitHub Actions only reads .github/workflows/ at the repository root. Since aletheia/ is vendored as plain tracked files (not a submodule), these workflows have never executed. Gates must be added at the root level.

Caution

CLI surface rebuilt 2026-09-21 (was: unbuilt, #124). 26 checks over the RSR v2 offline subset; 68 unit + 47 integration tests pass; hypatia oracle stays normative.

Caution

Clippy clean and blocking since 2026-09-21 (was: 23 findings, #125). Findings wired into real code; -D warnings in CI and just lint.

Caution

Specifications are pending. ROADMAP Phase 1 (specification publication) is incomplete. The project scope (11 domains) is stated; the formal specifications for most domains are not yet in-tree.

Caution

Oblíbený is at specification stage. The reference language has no implementation in this repository.

Caution

Scope-to-implementation gap is large. The stated scope covers 11 domains (security, AI ethics, dependability, language design, microkernel, RISC-V, sustainability, economics-as-code, distributed computing, reversibility, web protocols). Only the microkernel domain has running code. The remaining 10 domains are at specification or intention stage.
