Boundary declared (formatrix-docs#61); no integration

SEAM-1: Formatrix ↔ RSA

SEAM-1A: Document Event Protocol

Rust (commands.rs) AffineScript (Protocol.res) Status

DocumentEvent::Created { hash, path, format, timestamp }

documentEvent { id, eventType: Created, hash, path, format, timestamp, source }

⚠️ GAP

DocumentEvent::Modified { hash, old_hash, path, format, timestamp }

Uses oldHash: option<string>

✓ ALIGNED

DocumentEvent::Deleted { hash, path, timestamp }

Same structure

✓ ALIGNED

DocumentEvent::Converted { source_hash, target_hash, from_format, to_format }

Same structure

✓ ALIGNED

Gap: Missing id and source fields in Rust

The Rust DocumentEvent lacks id and source fields that Protocol.res expects.

Resolution Required: Add id and source fields to Rust DocumentEvent enum.

SEAM-1B: Format Detection

Rust (ffi.rs) AffineScript Usage Status

FfiFormat enum (7 variants)

Protocol.documentAst.format: string

⚠️ GAP

Gap: Format Type Mismatch

Rust uses enum FfiFormat, Protocol uses plain strings. Need mapping layer.

Resolution: Use string representation in Protocol.res as-is; add format string constants.

SEAM-1C: AST Interchange

Rust (ast.rs) AffineScript (Protocol.res) Status

Document struct

documentAst type

⚠️ NEEDS BRIDGE

Block enum

blockElement type

✓ ALIGNED (conceptually)

Inline enum

inlineElement type

✓ ALIGNED (conceptually)

Note: Bridge Implementation

Direct AST interchange requires serialization/deserialization. Current implementation uses JSON as bridge format.

SEAM-1D: Hash Consistency

Rust (commands.rs) AffineScript (Protocol.res) Status

SHA-256 via sha2 crate

hashAlgorithm = "sha256" constant

✓ ALIGNED

SEAM-2: RSA ↔ Docubot

SEAM-2A: Generation Request Protocol

Protocol.res Docubot.res Status

generationRequest { requestId, documentType, format, context, priority }

Uses own documentType enum, format enum

⚠️ GAP

repoContext { name, description, language, license, topics, existingDocs }

repoContext { name, description, language, license, topics, existingDocs, dependencies, readme }

⚠️ GAP

Gap: repoContext Field Mismatch

Docubot.res has additional dependencies and readme fields.

Resolution: Update Protocol.res to include optional dependencies and readme fields.

SEAM-2B: Generation Response / Approval

Protocol.res Docubot.res Status

generationResponse.requiresApproval

generationResult.requiresApproval

✓ ALIGNED

generationResponse.auditId

generationResult.auditId

✓ ALIGNED

generationResponse.confidence

generationResult.confidence

✓ ALIGNED

approvalRequest, approvalResponse

approveGeneration(), rejectGeneration()

✓ ALIGNED

SEAM-2C: Audit Events

Protocol.res Docubot.res Status

auditEventType enum

auditEntry { approvalStatus: string }

⚠️ GAP

Gap: Audit Event Type Representation

Protocol.res uses a discriminated union, Docubot.res uses strings.

Resolution: Add string→enum mapping or standardize on strings.

SEAM-3: RSA ↔ Docudactyl

SEAM-3A: Pipeline Trigger Protocol

Protocol.res Docudactyl.res Status

pipelineTrigger { triggerId, pipelineId, params }

executePipeline() with inline params

✓ ALIGNED (conceptually)

pipelineAck { triggerId, executionId, accepted }

Returns result<pipelineExecution, string>

✓ ALIGNED

SEAM-3B: Status Reporting

Protocol.res Docudactyl.res Status

pipelineStatus enum (5 variants)

pipelineExecution.status: string

⚠️ GAP

stepStatus enum (5 variants)

stepStatus type (5 variants)

✓ ALIGNED

statusReport { progress: float }

pipelineExecution lacks progress

⚠️ GAP

Gap: Progress Tracking

Protocol.res expects progress: float (0.0-1.0), Docudactyl.res doesn’t track it.

Resolution: Add progress field to pipelineExecution or calculate from step statuses.

SEAM-3C: Enforcement Results

Protocol.res Docudactyl.res Status

enforcementViolation { id, ruleId, severity, … }

Step returns result<unit, string> only

⚠️ GAP

Gap: Rich Enforcement Results

Protocol.res expects detailed violation objects, Docudactyl only returns error strings.

Resolution: Implement proper enforcement violation type in Docudactyl.

SEAM-3D: Pack Shipping

Protocol.res Docudactyl.res Status

shippingDestination union (4 variants)

Ship({ destination: string }) step type

⚠️ GAP

packShipmentResult { shipmentId, documentCount, … }

Not implemented

⚠️ GAP

Gap: Shipping Result Details

Protocol.res expects detailed shipping results, Docudactyl uses simple string.

Resolution: Add shipping result types to Docudactyl.

SEAM-4: Docubot ↔ Docudactyl

SEAM-4A: Generation Scheduling

Protocol.res Both Components Status

generationSchedule { scheduleId, interval, … }

Docudactyl has scheduledTask

✓ ALIGNED (conceptually)

SEAM-4B: Approval Workflow Routing

Protocol.res Docubot.res Status

approvalWorkflow { approvers, requiredApprovals, currentApprovals }

Uses single approver model

⚠️ GAP

Gap: Multi-Approver Workflow

Protocol.res supports multiple approvers, Docubot only tracks single approver.

Resolution: Extend Docubot approval functions to support multiple approvers.

SEAM-4C: Cost Budget Integration

Protocol.res Docubot.res Status

costBudget { daily, monthly, dailyUsed, monthlyUsed }

costTracking with same fields

✓ ALIGNED

SEAM-4D: Health Check Protocol

Protocol.res Docudactyl.res Status

healthCheck { componentId, status, latencyMs, version }

componentHealth with same fields

✓ ALIGNED

healthStatus enum (4 variants)

componentStatus enum (4 variants)

✓ ALIGNED

SEAM-5: All ↔ ArangoDB

SEAM-5A: Document Collection Schema

Protocol.res Implementation Status

arangoDocument { _key, content, format, path, repository, … }

Not yet implemented

PENDING

SEAM-5B: Edge Collection Schema

Protocol.res Implementation Status

arangoEdge { _from, _to, edgeType, confidence }

Not yet implemented

PENDING

edgeType enum (5 variants)

Not yet implemented

PENDING

SEAM-5C: Pack Manifest Schema

Protocol.res Implementation Status

packManifest { name, version, documents, required, optional }

Not yet implemented

PENDING

SEAM-5D: Audit Log Schema

Protocol.res Docubot.res Status

auditLogEntry { component, action, entityType, … }

auditEntry { provider, model, documentType, … }

⚠️ GAP

Gap: Audit Log Schema Mismatch

Different field structures between Protocol.res and Docubot.res.

Resolution: Harmonize audit log schemas.

SEAM-6: Formatrix ↔ blocky-writer

No integration is proposed. The seam is recorded so neither side invents a second, incompatible shape.

SEAM-6A: detect_blocks widget geometry

blocky-writer (rust/pdftool_core) Formatrix Docs consumer Status

Block with fields label, x, y, width, height (f32 coordinates, PDF user space)

Optional overlay on graph / relationship views (FD-C01)

⚪ RECORDED, not consumed

label from AcroForm /T, else parent /T, else field_<page>_<index>

Display name for a landed value

⚪ RECORDED, not consumed

Note: Not an integration

blocky-writer owns placement. Formatrix Docs owns viewing and editing. A green editor test does not prove page geometry, and exact page coordinates do not prove semantic correctness. Do not add a second JSON shape for "where a value lands in a PDF".

Summary of Gaps

Critical (Must Fix for v1)

  1. SEAM-1A: Missing id and source in Rust DocumentEvent

  2. SEAM-2A: repoContext field mismatch (missing dependencies, readme)

  3. SEAM-3B: Missing progress field in pipeline execution

  4. SEAM-5A-D: ArangoDB schemas not implemented

Non-Critical (Can Fix in SHOULDs)

  1. SEAM-1B: Format type enum vs string (mapping sufficient)

  2. SEAM-2C: Audit event type representation (string acceptable)

  3. SEAM-3C: Rich enforcement results (string errors acceptable MVP)

  4. SEAM-3D: Detailed shipping results (string acceptable MVP)

  5. SEAM-4B: Multi-approver workflow (single approver acceptable MVP)

Fixes Applied

Fix 1: Update Rust DocumentEvent

Added id and source fields (see commands.rs update).

Fix 2: Update Protocol.res repoContext

Added optional dependencies and readme fields.

Fix 3: Add Progress Tracking

Will implement in SHOULDs phase.
