After selecting text backwards, the first typed character is ignored

This issue has been there for a while now. I couldn't reproduce it in the desktop Visual Studio Code, so I thought it might have something to do with the add-on, but can't tell for sure.

To reproduce:

• Press shift and the left arrow to select text backwards in an open text file,
• type any two characters on the keyboard,
• the first character will be ignored, the second one will be typed.

If you do the same with forward selection, no characters will be swallowed. It's only happening after a backward selection.

I'm unable to reproduce this issue on my machine. Seems to be working as expected for me

Just realized I hadn't tested it on other browsers. My report refers to Safari, but when I open HA's VS Code in Chrome, the issue does not take place. So is it caused by the browser?
