feat: build landing page for codectx.granth.tech #2

Description

@granth-agarwal

Summary

The current site at codectx.granth.tech is built on an Astro/Starlight template and does not represent the project accurately. This issue tracks building a proper landing page from scratch with high design ambition — most Python tooling landing pages describe features instead of demonstrating value. This one should not.

Goals

  • Land the visitor on an animated terminal demo above the fold showing codectx running and producing output — no static screenshots
  • Communicate what codectx does before the visitor scrolls
  • Explain the actual problem being solved: naive context dumps feed files to LLMs in random order, codectx fixes this via dependency graph ordering
  • Show a before/after comparison: raw cat **/*.py dump vs codectx output
  • Display live PyPI download stats via pepy.tech embed
  • Link to documentation at /docs

Design Direction

  • Dark theme, terminal-native aesthetic
  • Typography: monospace for code and numbers, sharp grotesque for prose
  • No gradient backgrounds, no feature icon grids, no "blazing fast" copy
  • The terminal animation is the hero — full width, shows codectx run ./project executing with streamed output, tier assignments visible, ends with ✓ context.txt written
  • Below the fold: download count from pepy.tech, version, license — numbers only, no filler
  • Two-column problem/solution section in prose, no bullet points
  • Install command as the only CTA: pip install codectx or uv add codectx

References

Technical Stack

  • Astro, single page, zero or near-zero JS shipped to client
  • Terminal animation: vanilla JS typewriter (~30 lines) or CSS animation
  • pepy.tech badge embedded via their standard badge URL: https://static.pepy.tech/badge/codectx
  • Target total page weight: under 50KB

Acceptance Criteria

  • Animated terminal demo visible above the fold without scrolling
  • pepy.tech download stats visible on the page
  • Problem/solution section explains dependency graph ordering clearly
  • Before/after code comparison present
  • Install command is the only call to action
  • Deploys to codectx.granth.tech (root /)
  • Links to /docs for documentation
  • Passes Lighthouse accessibility score >= 90
  • No broken links
  • Page weight under 50KB excluding fonts

Out of Scope

  • Documentation content (tracked in separate issue)
  • Blog or changelog page
  • i18n
  • Light mode
