right clicking, while text is highlighted, on the tab provides a link.

Ironically, copying this worked for extension.ts but not for my own repo, which works fine with the GitHub Pull Requests and Issues.

Is it improperly handling private repos?

Replicated issue on a public repository. I should have realized this earlier, but I had not pushed my current working branch, which resolved for me.

I found this happens when using branches that have . in their name. I switched my names to use / and the extension works great.

It also happens if the local branch was not pushed to remote, even though the current line was not changed in the local branch.
