No color in map anymore

Since on of the latest updates, or maybe with switching back from :next to :latest my map is completely free of colors.
I looked everywhere in the Settings, I know there was a switch, but I cannot find it anymore.
Strg-F5 did'nt help, also deleting all cache cookies & stuff. Is it a bug, or a feature?

Oh, also Statistiks View is now free of maps at all.

Neither of those to be honest. In latest we have a switch on the user settings "Prefer coloured map" but this was dropped in the next branch in favour or the map styles where you could select the coloured version of the reitti style. So, at one point I dropped the column in the table.

Now you switched back to latest and the column is probably missing.

To bring that back, you could execute 'ALTER TABLE user_settings ADD COLUMN prefer_colored_map BOOLEAN DEFAULT FALSE;
' against your database.

I am still baffled that this whole switching back to latest from next even worked somehow. This is not supported in any way.
My honest advice to you is, that as soon as we are ready with 5.0 do not auto update the latest image. This will try tor reapply the migration scripts and they will probably fail. Keep a backup of the DB and we could work through it together to get you up and running again when 5.0 is ready.

For me, the user settings in latest has this here:

I have no idea why it should not render that on your isntance. If there would be an mismatch between the db and the code, the whole template would break and you would not be able to look at the settings.

Is there something in the log when you try to open the user profile settings?

I'm not 100% sure what exactly fixed it — I had set prefer_colored_map = TRUE directly via SQL, and at some point the colors came back. Maybe the app just needed a fresh request to re-read the value from the DB.

I also found the user settings page at /settings/user-management?timezone=Europe%2FBerlin — I honestly might have just missed it before, as I was only looking in the admin area.

One remaining issue: under "Places" (Orte), the map thumbnails are not rendering — just empty grey circles. Could be a tile-cache issue, but I'll open a separate ticket if needed.

They are cached since they are needed for every request. And that cache is either cleared when saving the settings or the app is restarted.

One remaining issue: under "Places" (Orte), the map thumbnails are not rendering — just empty grey circles. Could be a tile-cache issue, but I'll open a separate ticket if needed.

Make sure to use the correct version of the tile-cache. It also needs to be latest. There was a big rewrite of the cache which will not work with latest.
