- Once you’ve signed up and logged in, you’ll be able to create, update, and delete your personal excuses.
- A user will also have access to their profile in which you’ll be able to update username and password or delete the whole account.
- We also added a sort/filter feature that when you click on a occasion, you get a list of all the excuses associated with that occasion.
- We also added a counter feature (don’t have to be a user to use it) which works like a like button.
- Using that counter feature we also added a section that shows that top three excuses.
Explains the technical details
- The Perfect Excuse is a single page application that uses Rails, Ruby, Express and Angular.
- For our authentication we used Javascript Web Tokens instead of sessions.
- We have Full CRUD on Excuses, Users and Partial CRUD on Occasions.
- CSS responsive design (mobile friendly)
Explains the technical challenges
- Encountered a bug when creating a new account, only accepter numeric values greater than 6
- Update/Delete buttons appear for created excuses only upon click of 'show your excuses' from profile. Do not disappear with click of 'show all'.
Explains which improvements you might make
- Checkboxes for creation of excuse (many to many)
- User can see a list of their own top 10 excuses
- Additional data visualization for top excuses.
What went well for your group?
- Everyone was really flexible with their times (Especially with time zone differences)
- All willing to jump in to help and take on whatever was needed.
- Really liked how for this project everyone just wanted to learn and have fun rather than being serious and stressed about it.
- We definitely had an environment that fostered learning and giving opportunities.

What was the most useful tool that your group relied on the most
- Slack and Zoom.
- Zenhub worked as checklist
What was the most surprising aspect of working in a group/a thing (or things) you didn’t anticipate
