MCP Connection Hub - Project Progress

This document tracks the implementation progress of the MCP Connection Hub project.

Phase 1: Foundation & Core API

Milestone 1.1: Project Setup (Week 1)

• Create basic project structure and repository
• Set up Docker configuration and docker-compose file
• Implement SQLite database initialization
• Configure Docker volume for persistence
• Status: Completed
• Notes: Project structure, Docker configuration, and database initialization implemented.

Milestone 1.2: FastAPI Core (Week 1-2)

• Implement FastAPI application with basic routing
• Create OpenAI-compatible API endpoint structure
• Add API key authentication middleware
• Implement Pydantic models for request/response
• Status: Completed
• Notes: Basic FastAPI application with OpenAI-compatible endpoint structure and authentication implemented.

Milestone 1.3: Tool Registry Framework (Week 2)

• Implement Pluggy-based tool registry system
• Create tool registration interface
• Add tool discovery and initialization
• Implement tool capability reporting

• Notes: Tool registry using Pluggy implemented with base tool structure and discovery mechanism.

Milestone 1.4: Configuration System (Week 2-3)

• Create Pydantic Settings management
• Implement environment variable loading
• Add configuration persistence in SQLite
• Create tool-specific configuration models

• Notes: Configuration system implemented with environment variable support and Pydantic settings.

Milestone 1.5: CLI Foundation (Week 3)

• Create CLI framework with command structure
• Implement basic tool management commands
• Add configuration viewing and editing

• Notes: Command-line interface implemented using Typer and Rich, with commands for tool management, configuration, and system status.

Phase 2: Core Engine Capabilities

Milestone 2.1: Tool Response Standardization (Week 3)

• Create standardized response format for all tools
• Implement common error handling wrapper
• Add response validation middleware
• Create response transformation utilities

Milestone 2.2: Logging System (Week 3-4)

• Implement Loguru-based logging framework
• Add request/response logging
