Requested explicitly after CODEOWNERS caused a review deadlock: the original file pointed backend paths at a nonexistent GitHub handle (@karthik-veginati, confirmed 404), which made those paths permanently unapprovable by anyone. A later fix (#206) corrected the handle, but was itself reverted (#210) at the requester's direction. This removes the mechanism outright rather than maintaining it further. Effect: PRs no longer require a specific reviewer based on which files they touch.
