License: GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 or later (LICENSE).

This is a modified work based on Operit2. Modifications include, among others: iOS App Store identity and signing, Operit branding, privacy purpose strings, iOS document types, Operit 1 / Operit2 backup import, Aletyn signup grant, chat-completions streaming fixes, and TestFlight release packaging. Dates of modification begin in 2026.

2. Operit2 (primary upstream)

Project: AAswordman/Operit2
License: GNU Affero General Public License v3.0
Baseline commit imported into this tree: 44dc8fe54b0f831456dc4a8dfeace2d7c236ad89

Operit iOS reuses Operit2 as the application, not as a documentation-only reference. Copied and then modified in this repository:

Area Paths
Flutter client apps/flutter/app
Flutter native bridge apps/flutter/native/operit-flutter-bridge
Rust runtime and crates core/crates
Apple / iOS hosts hosts/apple, hosts/ios
CLI, plugins, tools, other hosts apps/cli, plugins, tools, remaining hosts/*

The whole combined work is licensed under AGPL-3.0 because it is based on Operit2.

3. Operit (Android / Operit 1)

Project: AAswordman/Operit
License: GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only (LGPL-3.0-only)
Reference commit: f1c7ba7cf93b613e20209668c55b368407c1d333

Operit 1 is not the iOS UI or runtime. This tree does not port the Android Kotlin application, Shizuku/Root/ADB automation, or other Android-only device-control code.

What was taken from Operit 1:

  • Backup and snapshot ZIP layout, Room schema compatibility (including schemas 10, 20, 21), and chat/memory export formats. Implemented in core/crates/operit-runtime/src/data/backup as Operit1* importers.
  • Plugin PackageBuilder skill layout (tutorials, types, example packages) as a structural reference under plugins/.

Those compatibility pieces are original code in this AGPL work that reads Operit 1 file formats. They are not a copy of the Operit 1 application.

4. Bundled third-party software

A short list of components shipped with the iOS app. Individual files keep their original copyright headers. Additional Dart/Rust crates are declared in pubspec.yaml, Cargo.toml, and vendored LICENSE files.

Component License Role
Flutter BSD-3-Clause Application framework
iSH GPLv3, with LICENSE.IOS App Store exception In-app Alpine Linux userland / terminal
sherpa-onnx Apache-2.0 On-device speech
ONNX Runtime MIT On-device inference used by sherpa
xterm.dart MIT Terminal widget
flutter_math_fork Apache-2.0 Math rendering
liquid_glass_widgets MIT Theme surfaces
webview_all / webview_flutter_* MIT / BSD WebView
QuickJS (via quickjs-wasm-rs) MIT Plugin JavaScript

iSH App Store exception

iSH is GNU GPL. The iSH copyright holders published an App Store exception (third_party/ish/LICENSE.IOS): they will not pursue a license violation that results solely from the conflict between GPL and Apple App Store terms, provided the GPL is otherwise followed, including providing source code and the license text.

Corresponding iSH source used by this app is obtained through tools/ios-runtime/ish/. Users of the App Store binary can obtain the complete corresponding source of Operit iOS (including the iSH build inputs described there) from https://github.com/YChaiyi/Operit-iOS .

5. Trademarks

“Operit” and related marks belong to their respective owners. This iOS distribution is an independent AGPL fork for Apple platforms. It is not an official AAswordman App Store product unless AAswordman says so.

6. How to obtain source

The preferred form of the work for making modifications is this Git repository. App Store and TestFlight builds correspond to tagged or documented revisions on https://github.com/YChaiyi/Operit-iOS .
