Feature description
I've recently rediscovered the issue mentioned in #5483 on one of my Samsung devices.
I haven't used my smartphones in the last few years really to watch anything from YT, otherwise I might have added it to the issue back then, since these are older Samsung Exynos chips which seem to run into the same issue.
The Exynos also don't seem to be able to render WebM @1080p 60fps only working properly with the MPEG4 streams 1080p60fps max.
Why do you want this feature?
To add a new toggle function under "Video and Audio" with a remark for older devices that were delivered with a sub-FullHD (1080p) display (think that's most likely the devices of concerns) as a Optimized Video-Performance Playback.
I'm just making this suggestion because I have no Idea until when sub-FullHD devices were produced.
And maybe it would help to avoid that some devices getting tossed before their time.
Additional information
The function would add a toggle under "Video and Audio" that would
switch the 1080p60 streams automatically to the MPEG4 1080p60 streams If the user has WebM set as the default video format to allow for the smoothest and highest resolution playback If the user has playback issues with WebM 1080p60 streams.
But only for the 1080p60 streams!
Since currently it's not possible to choose the the MPEG4 streams when you have set the the WebM as the default video format unelss you completely restarting the app each time.
By now the WebM streams seem to have gotten better since #5483 in 2021 I would personally say.
This feature would probably help a few users who would otherwise consider their device wrongfully as too outdated.
I'm just not sure what would be the best way to go about the manual Download. Either let them still Download the WebM streams 1080p60 or switch the WebM for the MPEG4 1080p60 stream in the Download Stream resolution selection?
