Able to Flip to landscape. But can't Turn Back to portrait !!!

Steps to reproduce the bug

Hallo !!! I've got a Motorola Smartphone. While Newpipe ist running i can turn the device to landscape. But if i want to get back to portrait, it's Not possible !!! THANX for this wonderful App !!!

It is not a proper bug fix at all and I not sure if it will work but could you try to change settings -> appearance -> tablet mode to off?

Please explain repro steps in more detail.
Are you switching orientation in NewPipe just by moving your phone, going full screen, changing a NewPipe setting, or something else?
Is your orientation locked or unlocked?
If locked, are you locked in potrait or landscape?

Providing a screen recording of the issue would also be helpful.

Not the original author, but this used to bedevil me all the time when I first started using NewPipe and either manually forced landscape mode or let the phone automatically choose it based on the sensor's orientation. The problem is that, once activated, it locks every screen in NewPipe (and only NewPipe) into landscape mode until the app's closed and reopened.

The solution: whenever you're done with landscape mode and before you do anything else, click the square full screen button in the corner. This will return the entire app to portrait (normal, expected) mode and fix the problem.

It's not obvious, but it does work.

Hello. Sorry if this wasn't obvious, but the entire app locking itself into landscape mode (even despite navigating away to a different app or triggering a force rotation via android AI) happens to me every single time landscape playback gets activated in NP. NewPipe's the only app I've used that does this and it's been like this since the first time I used it years ago.

However, since this is the first time I've ever put it into words, I'm now wondering if I (and the OP) simply had different expectations about how the landscape button should work (temporarily, or permanently until clicked again).
