Steps to reproduce the bug

Hi NewPipe team,

I’ve been using NewPipe for a long time and it has been very stable and reliable so far. Thank you for the great work.

However, recently I’ve noticed an issue: when I watch videos continuously for around 1 hour, my IP gets temporarily blocked by YouTube. After that, videos fail to load/play until the block is lifted (usually after some time).

This did not happen before, or at least not this frequently. My usage pattern is normal video watching (no downloading, no excessive refreshing).

I’m wondering:

• Has there been any recent change in request patterns or extractor behavior?
• Is this a known issue or something related to recent YouTube-side changes?

Any insight or recommendation would be appreciated.

that's a YouTube thing and not only affecting Newpipe (e.g. Unity Players etc.)

Also, version 0.25.0 is really old, so you should update it to 0.28.0, @jackyhieu1211 (don't update to 0.28.1, cause it is quite buggy).

Hi,
I’m currently using NewPipeExtractor v0.25.0 to retrieve the video playback URL.

I have checked the NewPipe source code, and the NewPipe app itself is also using NewPipeExtractor v0.25.0 for extracting the playback links.
Because of that, the issue I’m encountering is reproducible and the same behavior also exists on the NewPipe side, not due to using an outdated version.

So this issue is not related to using an old extractor version.

@jackyhieu1211 Versions for bug reports should use the NewPipe version, as this is the NewPipe repository.
You should only use the extractor version for the extractor repo. Not doing so leads to unnecessary confusion.
