Steps to reproduce the bug
- Install Ripple app (https://github.com/guardianproject/ripple)
- Select NewPipe as a responder to the panic action
- Trigger the panic action
- The application restarts in the foreground instead of closing if it is active, or starts if it is inactive.
Expected behavior
The app should terminate itself and/or remove the search history, as it is mentioned on the guardian project's page (https://guardianproject.info/code/panickit/), and in the Ripple app.
The commit that introduced the feature in 2015 is here: #133
Either the feature should be removed or it should be fixed.
Actual behavior
The function that responds to an event initiated by a panic button no longer works.
