Checklist
Feature description
I want to pickup from what was already posted in #5606.
A switchable dead zone "on/off" of 1/5th or 1/8th of the horizontal resolution (on one side - left-handed/right-handedness or both sides) of the display to not accidentally dial up loudness level or screen brightness.
Why do you want this feature?
I'm using mostly an 8" tablet and from my experience when I don't have a stand around I usually keep holding it between thumb and extended index finger when lying down, this is realtively easy with the weight of the device still being not so great.
But when standing and holding the device this doesn't work so great because the whole weight of the device drags it down on the unsupported side and you have to put the thumb on the screen to keep it from falling down to the ground.
And since I'm not a biggest fan of an extended screen lock feature, because it takes more button presses to readjust the brightness "per video", since not all videos are equally bright in impression, I think even for Smartphone users this could be handy if the brightness can be readjusted per video and letting the thumb rest on the screen without changing the loudness level.
Additional information
Eventually a setting that switches sides for brightness/loudness levels for left handed people?
