Preliminary comment before I investigate this at a later date: the exception message hints that this is an issue with settings migrations.

Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: A migration from 900 to 9 was required but not found. Please provide the necessary Migration path via RoomDatabase.Builder.addMigration(Migration ...) or allow for destructive migrations via one of the RoomDatabase.Builder.fallbackToDestructiveMigration* methods.

So this means either:

1. Your settings are corrupted and incompatible with NewPipe, or
2. There's a bug in NewPipe's setting import and migrations

For the time being, this can be alleviated by using a different version of NewPipe without importing any settings (like dev nightly or refactor nightly, or a debug apk), or if the previous version still works with your current settings then you can just downgrade and use that.

Hi

I uninstalled 28.0 and reinstalled. Same thing happens. I don't get the opportunity of importing settings before it crashes. Also happened with 27.6 since the issues which produced po-token as a temporary fix, which is why I've been using po-token and Tubular, which both still work.

I forgot to fill in that I'm on a Google Pixel 8a and Android 16.
