usually when newpipe stop working it shows an error message on notification with error log but this time the app just close itself. it doesn't stop the video but the the app close itself. that's all I can tell you at the moment.

Oh, that's really weird. If you're able to catch logs with adb or LogFox, that would be great!

Also check if your device settings don't restrict NewPipe battery usage, some OEMs love to add restrictions on background and/or battery usage(s).

Otherwise, I don't see how we can help you :(
