Hi.
I have migrated from FateX (which I loved) to your FCO (in Foundry v14). And I am impressed with your work.
Well done! Kudos!
My table had some pleas for modifications to FCO that I have used AI to develop.
I wish for FCO to become even more awesome and successful, for the FATE system that I have fallen completely in love with. I therefore hope to see these features "baked into" FCO rather than to live as separate mods. -Optional to enable in the FCO settings page. This would lover the threshold for new users, who would not have to find and install mods.
Mod 1:
My players come from FateX, and appreciated its skill pyramid. AI helped me make a mod that injects a pyramid of all skills above the FCO skills list on the character sheet. These buttons are clickable / rollable.
Mod 2:
Some of my players use laptops with small screens, and struggled with tracks and stunts at the bottom of character sheets to render past the boundaries of the sheet instead of using vertical scroll bars. They could not fit the entire character on screen.
A CSS mod made Tracks and Stunts scrollable.
AI theorized: "It may be that the FCO developers designed those panels with scrolling in mind originally, but an interaction with Foundry v14’s ApplicationV2 sizing changed the ancestor layout and prevented the intended constraints from propagating."
Mod 3:
We wanted the chat to always show the four dF dice images in the chat cards summarizing rolls, so we would not have to click every time. It made it easier to spot the +/- 4 rolls when many dice cluttered the screen at the same time.
Mod 4:
I needed stunts to be expanded when I open character sheets (I rummage through many as GM, and this mod makes me more effective).
The extended amount of content is easily scrollable with the mousewheel.
Mod 5:
FateX allowed us to label stress boxes on tracks individually. This has been surprisingly useful for both players and me.
My players gets the 1 & 2 stress boxes of protagonists, plus 1 stress box for every level of Physique (instead of unlocking box 3 at Physique 1 etc).
A stress track may therefore look like " 1 2 1 2 3 ".
As GM I like to give monsters particular stress boxes, f.i. several small stress boxes and fewer big ones, so they can not easily whittle down a big dragon with lots of small cuts. This motivates players to come up with bigger blows through cooperation and storytelling.
Now I can also create one sheet to hosts a group of f.i. goblins, with one shared stress track showing "g1 g1 g2 g2 g3 g3" etc. Each goblin has two stress boxes (valued 1) which I can now easily track from one character sheet and easily see how much bonus they get from attacking as a group. Fewer sheets to manage on screen.
Mod 6:
My group likes to roll for initiative. I know Fate has fixed initiative order (=Notice). But my players come from D&D and like the randomness. The mod simply changes 1d0 to 4dF + character Notice.
Forgive me for wasting so much of your valuable time with all this text.
In case any of this could be interesting for your FCO game system then please don't hesitate to tell me what I can do to assist you.
I am a weak noob hobby programmer, so I doubt I will be of use to you as such. These mods are all written by AI.
You are of course absolutely free to do with this as you wish. I just wanted to contribute in case these modifications could be of use to you and other users of FCO :-)
Best wishes
