Is it safe to update the official Roborock iOS app when using Local Roborock Server?

I'm successfully running a Roborock Saros 10R completely locally using local_roborock_server, Home Assistant, and the official Roborock iOS app.

The app was originally authenticated using the MITM/WireGuard method, and everything currently works with iOS app v4.70.02.

I'm hesitant to update the official Roborock app to the current version (v4.74.02) through Apple's App Store because I'm concerned that future releases might introduce changes that intentionally or unintentionally break compatibility with local servers.

A few questions:

1. Has anyone successfully updated the iOS app recently without losing connectivity to their local server?
2. Can an App Store update introduce certificate pinning, additional authentication requirements, or other changes that would prevent the app from connecting to the local server?
3. If an update breaks compatibility, would it typically require repeating the MITM authentication procedure, or could it require changes to the local server itself?
4. Is there a known-good iOS app version that users should retain?
5. Does the project maintain any compatibility information for official iOS app versions?

I'd particularly appreciate feedback from anyone running a Saros 10R with the latest iOS app.

To find your iOS app version:

Method 1: Through iPhone Settings

1. Open Settings.
2. Select General → iPhone Storage.
3. Scroll down and tap Roborock.
4. Look for the version number beneath the app's name, such as 4.74.02.

Method 2: Inside the Roborock app

1. Open Roborock.
2. Open Settings.
3. Product Info.
4. App Version
